Skype for Android has received a major update to version 4.0.0.17847 that brings a redesigned user interface that now looks more like the Skype Windows Phone app. The app has been completely refreshed from the ground up that makes it faster and more reliable. It gives you easy access to the recent conversations, video calls, voice calls and more. Skype says that they have concentrated more on stability, performance, and load time. The new update also offers unlimited video messaging that was available in for the v4.9 update for the iPhone and iPad. Skype for Android v3.0 update brings new Tablet UI, Improved audio

Microsoft launched the Preview version of the Skype for Windows Phone 8 was launched last week, now the Skype for Android app has been updated to version 3.0. This version has new User Interface (UI) that is optimized for large screen on tablets. This would make it easy to make a voice or video call and send messages with the new split screen interface on tablets. This version also has improved audio quality with a new wideband audio codec, option to merge your Skype account with your Microsoft account and more new features. Skype for Android has been updated to version 2.6.0.75 that brings option to share photos and videos from your device. This version also comes with improved battery life and video quality to utilize the large display on the devices with NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset. Skype for Android has been updated to version 2.5.0.108 that brings 2-way video calling support to 14 more Android phones and tablets.The new version also supports video calling in some of the Android 2.2 (Froyo) devices. Skype v2.1 for Android brings video calling support for more Android phones

Skype for Android has been updated to version 2.1.0.46 that brings 2-way video calling support to 17 more Android devices. They launched Skype 2.0 this June with the video calling support for few Android devices that ran Android 2.3. The new version also supports video calling in some of the Android 2.2 (Froyo) devices.
