Zync Z-930 7-inch tablet running Android 4.0 launched for Rs. 5499

Zync has launched the Z-930, their new 7-inch tablet running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Zync has also promised Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the tablet. It has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, similar to the Z-900 that was launched earlier this year. Other features include a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A8 processor with Mali-400 GPU, 0.3MP front-facing camera for video calling and 3600 mAh battery. Yandex to open its own Android App Store

Yandex, the leading Internet company in Russia has announced its own Android App Store. This would let them offer the new Store to OEMs for the Android tablets and Smartphones instead of Google Play Store and other Google Apps. Yandex already has a 3D user interface for Android called Yandex.Shell and other mobile apps, including Yandex.Search, Yandex.Mail, Yandex.Maps-based services. NTT Docomo to launch new Mobile Translation Apps

NTT Docomo, Japan’s largest telecom operator has announced that they would launch 2 new apps, Hanashite Hon’yaku and Utsushite Hon’yaku for their customers. The Hanashite Hon’yaku is the world’s first commercial mobile service for translation that would translate the conversations between people speaking Japanese to other languages. NTT Docomo introduced a text translation app earlier this May. YouTube for Android updated with New UI for Android 2.2 and 2.3 devices and more new features

YouTube for Android has been updated to version 4.1.23 that brings new UI for Android Froyo and Gingerbread devices. The home page now shows recommended video on top. You can now add video to YouTube TV queue from the app and pick more channels from the YouTube picks. The new UI and Preloading features were released for Android 4.0 devices in June. MediaTek to make quad-core chips starting Q4 2012

Google Play celebrates 25 billion downloads with $0.25 discounted apps for 5 days

Samsung Galaxy S III TouchWiz remote wipe hack patched with OTA update

There was mighty uproar yesterday about a dirty USSD hack that enabled links with a simple USSD code wipe the entire phone back to factory reset. It was widely reported to have affected all the major Samsung devices that were running the company’s custom skin called TouchWiz. Barnes and Noble takes on the Amazon Kindle Fire with Nook HD and Nook HD+

Barnes and Nobles was recently in the lime light for making a partnership deal with Microsoft with respect to the “Nook” category of devices the book giant produces.
