Android smartphones being shipped with pre-installed ‘Cosiloon’ malware: Report

According to Avast, thousands of Android smartphones are being shipped with adware pre-installed, including the devices from manufacturers like ZTE and Archos. Interestingly, the majority of these devices are not certified by Google. The malware is named ‘Cosiloon’ creates an overlay to present an ad over a webpage within the users’ browser. Motorola schedules an event on June 6th in Brazil, Moto Z3 Play expected

Motorola has scheduled an event in Brazil on June 6th where the company is expected to launch the Moto Z3 Play. Xiaomi releases Oreo-based kernel source for Redmi Note 5 Pro

Xiaomi India launched Redmi Note 5 Pro in February this year, later in March it was launched as Redmi Note 5 in China with few changes under the hood but Redmi Note 5 Pro and Redmi Note 5 (China variant) share the same codename ‘whyred’. After several rumors, HTC has officially introduced its flagship U12+ smartphone. It has a 6-inch QHD+ display with support for HDR10, Corning Gorilla Glass protection, is powered by Snapdragon 845 with 6GB of RAM, runs Android 8.0 (Oreo) with HTC Sense UI, has a 12MP Wide-angle rear camera with HTC UltraPixel 4, OIS along with a 16MP Telephoto camera. There is also 8MP dual front camera 84° field of view, Bokeh mode, AR sticker, Face unlock and more.

Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom Android 8.0 Oreo update starts rolling out

Samsung suspends Galaxy S7 Android Oreo update over random reboots [ Update: Roll out resumes]

Update: Samsung has resumed the roll out of Oreo update for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge with firmware version G930FXXU2ERE8 and G935FXXU2ERE8, respectively in Portual.  Other countries should get the update soon.

Android P beta available for OnePlus 6 on launch day [ Update: Now available for Download]

Update: As promised OnePlus has released Android P Beta for the OnePlus 6, soon after the announcement, and before it goes on sale next week. It also warns that some functions like VoLTE and Face Unlock doesn’t work. You can download Android P ROM from here and flash manually at your own risk. You can also easily roll back to Android Oreo by flashing the ROM here.  Check out the source link below for flashing instructions. The company said that it will release device trees and kernel sources for the phone soon.
