OPPO A5 with 6.2-inch 19:9 FullView display, dual rear cameras, Android 8.1, 4230mAh battery announced

After rumors and certification, OPPO has officially announced the A5, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in China. It has a 6.2-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch and  87.8% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 450 with 4GB of RAM and runs ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera for portrait shots and an 8-megapixel front camera with AI beautify features that intelligently recognizes 296 facial features. Google Play Games update brings Search, Snake game, YouTube videos with gameplay and more

Google Play Games app is getting a new update (v5.10) which brings features like new setting to disable autoplay videos, new search, removed settings to disabled Quest and Request notifications (v5.9), added Snake, YouTube links under games in the carousel (v5.8), White nav bar (v5.8). OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T OxygenOS Beta update brings Treble support, new user interface and more

OnePlus has released new beta updates (Beta 13 for the OnePlus 5 and Open Beta 11 for OnePlus 5T) for the OnePlus 5 and 5T smartphones that finally brings support for Project Treble. The company said that it has finally found a solution to bring Treble support after several months of evaluation and hard work, even though last year it said that old devices won’t get Project treble. The update also brings new user interface, accent color customization and improvements to launcher. Check out the complete changelog below.

Samsung Android Go phone with Experience UI, Android 8.1 surfaces in live images

Samsung rumored to launch an Android Go phone in the coming days, but no details have leaked so far leaving so much for imagination. Google releases Android P Beta 3 (DP4) with bug fixes and optimizations

Google released Android ‘P’ Beta 2 (DP3) for the Pixel smartphones last month, now it has released Beta 3 (DP4) for the phones. Android P Beta 2 included the final APIs (API level 28) as well as the official SDK, the latest beta  includes the latest bug fixes and optimizations for stability and polish, along with the July 2018 security updates. Vivo Z1i with 6.26-inch FHD+ 19:9 display, Snapdragon 636, dual rear cameras, Android 8.1 announced

Vivo announced Z1 in China in May, today it has officially introduced the Z1i, a cheaper version of the smartphone in China, after it surfaced last week. It has specifications as the Z1, including a 6.26-inch FHD+ 19:9 2.5D curved glass display with a notch, 90% screen-to-body ratio and narrow bezels, 4GB of RAM, Android 8.1 (Oreo) with Funtouch OS 4.0 on top and features a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera, but this is powered by Snapdragon 636 instead of Snapdragon 660, comes with 128GB of storage and a 16-megapixel front camera. Xiaomi Mi A1 Android 8.1 Oreo stable update finally starts rolling out [Download link]

Xiaomi launched Mi A1 back in September last year under Android One programme in collaboration with Google with an aim to keep the Android version updated for next couple of years. At the event, Xiaomi and Google promised regular security patch updates every month along with Android Oreo in 2017 itself for Mi A1.

Panasonic Toughbook FZ-T1 rugged handheld with Android 8.1 announced

Panasonic has announced Toughbook FZ-T1, the company’s latest rugged handheld targeted at enterprise customers  including retail and hospitality, manufacturing, transportation and logistics. It hasintegrated barcode scanner with two trigger buttons, either side of the device, and will also get a separate long and short range barcode scanning accessory for inventory management such as scanning from forklifts, shelf stocking, assisted sales or order taking and queue busting.
