iBall Slide 3G 7271 HD7 went on sale recently, now the iBall Slide 7236 2G is available on eBay. It has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and comes with 2G support. Other features are similar to the Slide 3G 7271 including a 1.3 GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor, Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It also has dual SIM support with voice calling and wireless FM Radio. This one packs a 2500 mAh battery. Motorola starts selling Grip shells for Moto G in the US

While the tech industry is eagerly awaiting the launch of pocket and wallet friendly Motorola Moto G in India, Motorola has made the Grip shells available for Moto G in the US where the phone is already on sale. Motorola Moto G will be the first Motorola smartphone in India in a long time and it plans to take on the mid-range smartphone market that is currently dominated by likes of Indian manufacturers like Micromax, Karbonn, Xolo and others.

Xolo Q1000 Opus gets a firmware update to fix camera bugs

Xolo launched the Q1000 Opus, the company’s first quad-core smartphone with a quad-core Broadcom chip in the Q CORE series last month. We reviewed the smartphone recently and found some bugs in the camera that crashes the camera often. Xolo has released a minor firmware update that fixes these issues. Micromax has finally launched the Micromax Canvas Mad A94, the company’s latest smartphone in the Canvas series. it has built-in MAd app that pays lets you earn points to watch Ads, which can be converted into rupees that would be credited to users’ postpaid or prepaid account. The phone packs a 4.5-inch (480 x 854 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand 2 (SM-G7102) in India last month and announced that the phone would go on sale this month. It also announced that the phone would be priced between Rs. 22900 and Rs. 24900. Now the phone has been listed on the official Samsung eStore at a price tag of Rs. 22,999. The Grand 2 has a 5.25-inch (1280 x 720 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). Asus Transformer Book Duet TD300 Hands on

The original Asus Transformer tablet was a very interesting product as it was one of the first multiple usage device that could be used as a tablet as well as a laptop. However, the Transformer series has failed to make a commercial impact so far and Asus is not losing heart yet. At CES 2014, they announced another Transformer device – the Transformer Book Duet tablet/laptop that runs both Android and Windows 8.1. The phone has a 4.5-inch IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). As the phone is called Canvas MAd, you’ll be paid for watching video ads on the phone. The tag line reads “Get proud to be mad about ads”. Micromax Funbook P365 and Funbook P256 with 7-inch display now available

Two new Micromax Funbook tablets, the Micromax Funbook P365 and the Funbook P256 are available  online. These tablets have a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display. The Funbook P365 is  powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 processor with Mali 400 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The Funbook P256 is powered by a 1.2 GHz single-core Cortex A8 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The P365 comes with a 2G SIM slot and voice calling, while the P256 doesn’t have a SIM slot. Both these support 3G via dongle. Asus PadFone Mini Hands on

Among the numerous Android smartphones and tablets that Asus showcased at CES 2014 was its trademark PadFone device. However, unlike the previous iterations of PadFone series, this year, Asus has decided to tone down a little in terms of specifications. The yesteryear PadFone devices had top of the draw specifications, but this year’s Asus PadFone Mini is a more subtle yet affordable PadFone offering. Lava has launched the Iris Pro 30, the company’s latest flagship smartphone finally after several delays. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display based on OGS technology and Corning Gorilla glass protection, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. The phone is 7.5mm thick and weighs just 114 grams since it uses magnesium alloy body. The phone has CABC (Content Adaptive backlight control) screen brightness regulation technology that automatically reduces screen brightness for 30% more battery life. Asus Vivotab Note 8 Hands on

Asus launched a lot of Android devices at the CES 2014 alongwith a few Windows based devices. Among the few Windows based devices that it announced, the Asus Vivotab Note 8 is one. It is the company’s first 8inch Windows 8.1 tablet. With the Asus Vivotab Note 8, Asus joins the bandwagon of companies that are interested in the 8inch Windows tablet market.
