At the Computex 2014 event held in Taipei, Asus announced successors to the MeMO Pad 7 and MeMO Pad 8. The Asus MeMO Pad 7 wasn’t much of an update, but the MeMO Pad 8 was updated with a better Full HD display and internal specifications overhaul. We managed to get our hands on both the updated Asus MeMO Pad 7 and Asus MeMO Pad 8 and we shot a photo gallery comparing the two MeMO Pads.

Xolo Q1200 with new software features officially announced for Rs. 13999

Xolo Q1200

Xolo Q1200 in the Q-CORE series went on sale online last week. Now Xolo has officially unveiled the smartphone. As we already know, it has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), upgradable to Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with Dual LED Flash, Sony Exmor R sensor and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Asus MeMO Pad 7 Photo Gallery

Asus made a lot of announcements at Computex 2014 event that was held in Taipei and the refreshed Asus MeMO Pad 7 was among the them. Asus announced the upgraded MeMO Pad 7 after an year and in terms of specifications, there isn’t much change except for the fact that the MediaTek processor in the yesteryear model has been replaced by a powerful Intel Atom Z3745 SoC in the latest generation.

Simplocker Android malware encrypts file and demands ransom

A new Android malware is affecting Android phone users in Ukraine by locking their mobile data. Called as Simplocker, the malware scans the device’s SD card or internal storage, encrypting any data files it finds there with a range of extensions, including obvious ones such as .jpg, .doc, .avi, and mp4. It then demands a ransom from them to recover their files.

Rovio has released a new update for Angry Birds Space that brings 40 new levels and several new features. This is the biggest update since the launch of the game 2 years back, says Rovio. This also adds new bonus levels, new vehicles such as Orion Crew Vehicle, OSIRIS-REx, Deep Impact and Dawn spacecraft, new Asteroids and Buzz Aldrin bird, named after the Apollo 11 moonwalker for ultimate destruction. New Asus MeMO Pad 8 Photo Gallery

At the Computex 2014 event in Taipei, Asus announced a lot of products and among those, is the upgraded Asus MeMO Pad 8. The new Asus MeMO Pad 8 is an upgrade over the yesterday product of the same name. The successor – New Asus MeMO Pad 8 is a very worthy upgrade over the original with a Full HD display, an Intel Atom Z3580 SoC with 2GB RAM, 16GB Internal storage and a microSD card slot. The new MeMO Pad 8 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Tab 4 10.1 listed on official eStore in India at Rs. 23960 and Rs. 30498

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 (SM-T331) and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 (SM-T531) that were unveiled back in April are now listed on official Samsung India eStore. Both these tablets have 8.0-inch and 10.1-inch WXGA displays with 16:10 screen ratio, powered by 1.2 quad-core processors and run on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Acer Liquid Jade Photo Gallery

Acer announced the higher mid-range Android smartphone – Acer Liquid Jade at the Computex 2014 event in Taipei. The phone comes bundled with Acer Liquid Leap fitness band in certain markets. The Acer Liquid Jade seems to be the exact combination of the mid-range smartphone being powered by a MediaTek quad-core processor and a 720p HD 5inch screen.

Sony Xperia Z2 Camera Samples

Sony announced the Sony Xperia Z2 at MWC 2014 earlier this year and it wasn’t much of an update when compared to the Sony Xperia Z1. The Sony Xperia Z2 comes with an almost similar body while the internals have been beefed up to match the latest generation SoC. Sony has decided to stick with the similar 20.7MP camera module on the Xperia Z2 that is currently found in the Xperia Z1 and the Xperia Z1 Compact.

At the Computex 2014 event in Taipei, Asus announced a five in one convertible that tries to bring together a Windows tablet, a Windows Laptop, an Android laptop, an Android tablet and an Android smartphone into a single device. We have seen Windows convertibles, Android convertibles and Windows/Android dual boot Transformers until now, but by bringing the concept of a Padfone into the Windows/Android dual boot system, Asus is a taking a completely new direction.

Android KitKat activation hits 13.6%, Jelly Bean down to 58.4%

It’s that time of the month when Google releases its monthly Android distribution numbers.  KitKat’s share is consistently increasing for the past two months and now, Google’s latest version of Android is present on 13.6% . This is up from 8.5% in May and 5.3% in April.

Hitman GO turn-based puzzle game now available for Android

Hitman GO for iOS
Square Enix released Hitman GO, a turn-based puzzle game for iPhone and iPad back in April. The game is now available for Android. This lets you strategically navigate fixed spaces on a grid to avoid enemies, infiltrate well-guarded locations and take out your target.
