Swipe has launched Swipe Konnect 5.0, the company’s latest smartphone in new Konnect series. It has a 5-inch ( 960 ×540 pixels) qHD capacitive touch screen IPS display based on one-glass-solution, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Micromax launched the Unite 2 A106, the company’s first smartphone running on Android 4.4 (KitKat) last month. We already brought you the unboxing of the Unite 2, here we have the benchmark of the smartphone. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with Mali 400 GPU. Gionee Elife S5.5 Camera Samples

Gionee Elife S5.5 is currently the thinnest smartphone out there, but somehow Gionee managed to put a 13MP shooter on the back of the 5.5inch device although the 13MP module protrudes out considerably. The Gionee Eife S5.5 is powered by a MediaTek Octa-core processor and has a 5inch Super AMOLED display making it a higher mid range smartphone.

Lava launched the Iris X1, the company’s first budget smartphone running on Android 4.4 (KitKat) last month. It is powered by a quad-core Broadcom BCM23550 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and has Videocore IV GPU. It has a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS screen and has 1GB of RAM. This has almost similar specifications as the new Fonepad 7 (FE375CG) , but this has a 8-inch (1280 x 800) HD IPS display, compared to the 7-inch HD display on the Fonepad 7. New Asus Fonepad 7 Photo Gallery

Asus unveiled an upgraded version of the Fonepad 7  (FE375CG) earlier this week at Computex 2014 in Taipei. We got to check out the tablet at the event show floor earlier this week. The first Fonepad 7 had a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor and the Fonepad 7 Dual SIM that was launched in India had a dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor, but this one has a faster quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor. HTC Desire 816 Camera Samples

Earlier in the year, at the MWC 2014, HTC announced the Desire 816 as the higher mid-range phablet and it was launched in India in April for Rs. 23,990. The Desire 816 comes with a 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP front facing “selfie” camera. The internals are on the same lines as the budget Moto G, but HTC hopes to sell the Desire 816 with a larger screen, a much better camera combination and their HTC Sense UI.

At the Computex 2014 event held in Taipei, Asus announced successors to the MeMO Pad 7 and MeMO Pad 8. The Asus MeMO Pad 7 wasn’t much of an update, but the MeMO Pad 8 was updated with a better Full HD display and internal specifications overhaul. We managed to get our hands on both the updated Asus MeMO Pad 7 and Asus MeMO Pad 8 and we shot a photo gallery comparing the two MeMO Pads.

Xolo Q1200 in the Q-CORE series went on sale online last week. Now Xolo has officially unveiled the smartphone. As we already know, it has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), upgradable to Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with Dual LED Flash, Sony Exmor R sensor and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Asus MeMO Pad 7 Photo Gallery

Asus made a lot of announcements at Computex 2014 event that was held in Taipei and the refreshed Asus MeMO Pad 7 was among the them. Asus announced the upgraded MeMO Pad 7 after an year and in terms of specifications, there isn’t much change except for the fact that the MediaTek processor in the yesteryear model has been replaced by a powerful Intel Atom Z3745 SoC in the latest generation.

Simplocker Android malware encrypts file and demands ransom

A new Android malware is affecting Android phone users in Ukraine by locking their mobile data. Called as Simplocker, the malware scans the device’s SD card or internal storage, encrypting any data files it finds there with a range of extensions, including obvious ones such as .jpg, .doc, .avi, and mp4. It then demands a ransom from them to recover their files.

Rovio has released a new update for Angry Birds Space that brings 40 new levels and several new features. This is the biggest update since the launch of the game 2 years back, says Rovio. This also adds new bonus levels, new vehicles such as Orion Crew Vehicle, OSIRIS-REx, Deep Impact and Dawn spacecraft, new Asteroids and Buzz Aldrin bird, named after the Apollo 11 moonwalker for ultimate destruction.
