Google releases standalone Messenger app for Android

Google removed messaging app on Nexus devices and released an updated Hangouts app that combines SMS and Hangouts conversation. Now Google has released a separate messaging app called Messenger instead of using Hangouts as the messaging app. It can handle both SMS and MMS and lets you share pictures and videos from the chat dialog, search contacts and conversations, block SMSs, send audio messages, send emjios and more. Lenovo launched the Vibe X2 smartphone in India last week, and the smartphone went on sale for Rs. 19999 earlier this week. We brought you the unboxing of the Vibe X2 recently, here we have the benchmarks. It is powered by a Octa-Core MediaTek MT6595M processor which as four ARM Cortex-A17 cores clocked at 2GHz per core and four ARM Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.69GHz per core, based on ARM big.LITTLE and 28nm HPM process. Android 5.0 Lollipop factory images for Nexus 5, 7 WiFi (2012 & 2013) and 10 now available

Immediately after it started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop over-the-air (OTA) update, Google has released factory images and binaries for the Nexus 5, WiFi variants of both Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 7 2013 and the Nexus 10. Factory images and binaries for the Nexus 4 and the Nexus 6 are not available yet. Google released factory images for Nexus 9 and the Nexus Player last week. Google has started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop over-the-air(OTA) update for Nexus 5, WiFi variants of both Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 10. Update for the 3G/LTE versions of the Nexus 7 2012 and 2013 and Nexus 4 haven’t started yet. The Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9 have received a minor update to address bugs. Now the tablet has surfaced on GFXBench database that reveals the specifications of the tablet. According to the listing, the tablet has a 7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 64-bit SoC with Adreno 306 GPU and Android 4.4.4 (KitKat). Panasonic Eluga SPanasonic has launched Eluga S, the company’s latest smartphone in the Eluga series. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.4 GHz True Octa-Core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a new BLINK PLAY features that lets users capture selfies or groupies with the front-facing camera by just blinking your eyes to capture the image on an automatic three-second countdown.

HTC launched the Desire 820 smartphone in India last month for Rs. 24990. We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have the benchmarks of the device. The Desire 820 is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor that has four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.54 GHz per core and other four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.0 GHz per core. It has Adreno 405 GPU. The Desire 820 has a 5.5-inch HD display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), similar to the Desire 816 that has a Snapdragon 400 processor. The Stellar 517 is a minor variation of the Stellar 518 that went on sale few weeks back. It has the same 5-inch FWVGA screen, has an 8-megapixel camera, but this has a 2MP camera compared to the 1.3MP camera and a 3000mAh battery instead of 4000mAh battery on the Stellar 518.
