Get Android 11 on Redmi Note 8/8T with Extended UI 2.0

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 8 in India almost a year back. The smartphone recently started receiving Android 10 based MIUI 12 update in several regions including India. Though Google, a couple of months back, officially announced Android 11, some users of Redmi Note 8 – which was the best-selling Android smartphone in the first quarter, are yet to receive Android 10 update on their devices (we too have not received the update on our device yet).

realme sold over 8.3 million devices during festive sales in India

realme today  announced that it has sold more than 8.3 million smartphones and AIoT products during realmeFestiveDays from October 15th to November 16th. Out of the total, 6.3 million were smartphones that includes 1.35 Million Narzo phones, 1.2+ Million C11 phones and 1.6 Million realme 7 series phones, witnessing a 20% growth compared to the festive season last year. OSOM by former Essential employees plans to release privacy-focused Android product in 2021

Essential, the company that introduced notches in the smartphone, is now no more. Founded by Android co-founder Andy Rubin, announced its closure earlier this year. The company’s only product, Essential Phone, sold poorly and received mixed reviews as well. Other promised devices operating system and home assistant never really materialised. OnePlus 8T Review

Keeping up with the tradition, OnePlus launched the ‘T’ version of the OnePlus 8 series in India a few weeks back. The OnePlus 8T is similarly spec’d as its predecessor, but, it carries few upgrades too – 65W charger, a 200mAh battery bump-up, 5MP macro camera, 2MP depth camera and 120Hz display. However, the upgrades becomes meaningful only if it’s implemented right.

Samsung Galaxy M31s gets One UI 2.5 update with November security patch, Secure Folder in India

Samsung launched the Galaxy M31s smartphone running One UI 2.1 in India back in July. Now it has released new One UI 2.5 update for the phone in India that brings several features including Alt Z Life that adds Quick Switch and Secure Folder that are coming to M series for the first time. The Quick Switch lets users easily switch between normal and private mode instances of the same app with the simple double click of the power button. OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro OxygenOS 11 Android 11 update starts rolling out

After OxygenOS developer build and Open Beta updates based Android 11, OnePlus just announced that it has started rolling out OxygenOS 11 stable update for the  OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro smartphones. This comes before the launch of OnePlus 8T smartphone launch next week, which will run OxygenOS 11 out of the box. HMD Global confirms Android 11 update for range of Nokia smartphones

HMD Global today released its timeline for upgrading its Android
11-ready portfolio to the latest Android OS. The rollout is planned to commence in Q4 2020 starting with Nokia 8.3 5G and the Nokia 5.3. Owners of the Nokia 2.2 and Nokia 8.1 will also be among the first to experience Android 11 this year, said the company.
