Lava has launched P7, the company’s latest smartphone. It has a 5-inch FWVGA display, is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop), which will be upgradable to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) in the future. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front-facing camera that also has an LED flash for capturing better selfies even in low lighting conditions. Motorola posted Android 6.0 update release notes for the Moto G (2nd Gen) earlier this week. Today Motorola’s Senior Director of Software Product Management, David Schuster announced that Motorola has started Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) soak test for the 2014 Moto G (2nd Gen) and 2014 Moto G (2nd Gen) 4G in Brazil and India. ASUS Pegasus 5000, the company’s latest smartphone in the Pegasus series has gone official in China, after it got certified by TENAA last month. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, is powered by a 1.3GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6753 processor, runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Zen UI, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Whatsapp working on end-to-end encryption for Android smartphones

Teewe creator CREO raises $3 million funding, to launch Android-based OS and smartphone

Teewe creator CREO (formerly Mango Man) today announced that it has secured $3 million (Rs. 20.4 crores approximately) funding from Sequoia Capital, Beenext Ventures and India Quotient. It said that it will be creating Android-based operating system and a smartphone that will be launched later this year. It launched its second generation Teewe 2 media streaming stick last year. Panasonic recently introduced Lumix DMC-CM10, it’s latest camera running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) in Japan. It also has 4G LTE support, but you can’t make calls, unlike the Lumix CM1 Android smartphone that was introduced back in 2014. It has a 1-inch 20.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, F2.8 LEICA DC ELMARIT, 10.2 mm (35 mm-format equivalent: 28mm) lens, manual focus ring, up to 4X EX optical zoom, 4K video recording, RAW image capture and LED flash. It has a 4.7-inch 1080p display and is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor. LeEco (formerly Letv) has launched the Le 1s smartphone in India, along with the Le Max, as expected. It was announced back in October last year and packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display with slim bezel, which is just 74.2mm wide, is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio X10 SoC and runs on Android Lollipop based on EUI 5.5. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) that can focus an object in just 0.09 seconds.
