Vodafone acquires 100% stake in Vodafone India

Vodafone has just announces that it has acquired 100% stake in its Indian subsidiary, Vodafone India Limited. It acquired indirect equity interests in VIL held by Analjit Singh and Neelu Analjit Singh in March, taking its stake to 89.03% of Vodafone India. Piramal Enterprises Limited has agreed to sell its 10.97% Vodafone India stake to Vodafone for Rs. 8,900 crores. SingTel Group, Samsung sign new partnership for retail collaboration, operator billing and more

SingTel Group has announced that they have partnered with Samsung aimed at driving next-generation mobile communication, infotainment and technology services. These SingTel Group of companies include, SingTel in Singapore, Optus in Australia, AIS in Thailand, Airtel in India and Africa, Globe Telecom in the Philippines and Telkomsel in Indonesia. Initiatives under this partnership include a retail collaboration programme, direct carrier billing, regional mobile app development challenge and direct access to selected apps.

Airtel opens 100 own retail stores across India in 14 months

Bharti Airtel has announced that it has crossed the milestone of 100 Company-Owned-Company-Operated (COCO) Airtel retail outlets across India. Airtel launched its first Airtel stores at South Extension (New Delhi) in February, 2013, that has extended to 35 cities and towns across 14 states. It took just 14 months reach the milestone. Reliance Jio, RCom sign intra-city optic fiber sharing agreement for 4G rollout

Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Reliance Communications have signed a new deal. Under the agreement, Reliance Jio would utilize RCOM’s nationwide intra-city fiber network for its 4G roll out. LG partners with Airtel and Qualcomm to launch LTE experience zone in Bangalore

LG Electronics has partnered with Airtel and Qualcomm to set up LTE experience zone in Bangalore for customers to experience 4G LTE. Airtel introduced 4G on mobile first on iPhone 5c and 5s for customers in Bangalore last month. LG launched the 4G LTE variant of the L2 G2 in India earlier this month starting at Rs. 46,000. Micromax has partnered with Aircel and MediaTek to offer data and other benefits with Micromax devices including smartphones and tablets powered by MediaTek chips, Micromax dongle and data-enabled feature phones. These offers would be initially available across four Micromax devices – MMX 377G data card, Funbook Mini 410i tablet, A090 and X070 smartphones. These include data benefits for all these devices, cheaper local and STD call rates and WAP content worth Rs. 10,000 with these phones and the tablet.
