Micromax teams up with Vodafone to offer 2GB of free data with Canvas Knight

Micromax has partnered with Vodafone India to launch Canvas Knight with 2GB of free data for customers not active on a data pack. The pack would be activated in 48 hours on first Vodafone SIM inserted in the Canvas Knight before October 31, 2014. This offer would be extended to a wider portfolio of Micromax devices soon, says the company. Micromax started selling Canvas Knight A350 with Android 4.4 (KitKat) since last month. Aircel launches 4G LTE services in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha

Aircel today launched its 4G services in India finally. It is available across four circles – Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha. Aircel becomes the second operator in India to offer 4G services after Airtel that already has 4G service in several cities. Reliance Jio recently announced that it would offer 4G services in 2015. Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Phagwara and Kapurthala in Punjab

Airtel has launched 4G services in Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Phagwara and Kapurthala in Punjab. Airtel launched its 4G LTE services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Punjab and Haryana last March and rolled out voice services on 4G in these three cities and in Ludhiana and Jalandhar back in May. Airtel customers can access 4G on dongles, Wi-Fi CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment/ routers) and mobile phones in these cities. Airtel today launched its new 3G dongle that would offer download speeds of up to 21.6 Mbps on 3G. This lets users create a Wi-Fi hotspot easily by plugging it into a laptop, phone charger or a car stereo. This can be shared with up to 5 devices simultaneously. Aircel has launched Design your own plan, a new online service that enables prepaid and postpaid subscriber create a plan of their choice. Samsung has announced Galaxy S5 Sport for Sprint in the U.S. It’s a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active with slight changes in the design and new colors. Otherwise it has similar hardware keys, IP67 water and dust resistant and specifications as the S5 Active including a 5.1-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and it runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung own UI on top. Idea Cellular has launched !d 4000, the company’s latest budget smartphone with 3G connectivity. It has a 3.5-inch HVGA display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 3.2-megapixel rear camera without flash. It has dual SIM support with dual standby, similar to other Idea phones and also comes with 3G connectivity. The looks like a minor upgrade compared to the Idea !d 1000 that was launched earlier this March, since only the camera and the battery have seen a change. Reliance Jio to begin expanded 4G trials in August, phased launch in 2015 across India

Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) would begin 4G rollout in phased manner in 2015. This was announced by Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of the Reliance Industries at its 40th Annual General Meeting today. The company would begin expanded trials in August across multiple cities, which would continue through the end of 2014 and early 2015. Tata Docomo Photon Max now offers data speed of upto 9.8 Mbps

Tata DOCOMO launched Photon Max Wi-Fi dongle last year. At the launch Tata Docomo offered speeds of up to 6.2 Mbps. Today the company has announced that it has upgraded the data speed of up to 9.8Mbps for the dongle since they have upgraded their network. All existing customers will automatically be able to access the higher speeds on their network as the network upgrade will be compatible with existing Photon Max Wi-Fi devices. This is currently available for customers in Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata. It would be subsequently extended to 8 other metro cities.
