Videocon Telecom has announced that it has partnered with Huawei to implement 4G LTE-ready Packet Core technology. Under this partnership, Videocon Telecom would use Huawei’s Evolved Packet Core (EPC) technology for the Core Network that would allow them to cater to its nationwide 4G data services rollout. Huawei is one of the world’s leading LTE-EPC solution providers. Reliance Jio, Ascend Telecom sign tower sharing deal


Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Ascend Telecom Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. Under this deal, Reliance Jio would utilize Ascend Telecom’s 4500 towers across India for its 4G roll out. The company is backed by New Silk Route Growth Capital, IL&FS and the TVS Group. Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Jalandhar


Airtel has launched 4G services in Jalandhar, Punjab.Airtel launched its 4G LTE services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Punjab and Haryana last March and rolled out voice services on 4G in these three cities earlier this month. It also launched its 4G services in Ludhiana earlier this month. In Jalandhar, Airtel customers can access 4G on dongles, Wi-Fi CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment/ routers) and mobile phones. Airtel launches 3G services in Punjab

Airtel has launched 3G services in Punjab. It rolled out 4G services in Chandigarh – Tricity last year and in Ludhiana in Punjab last week. It offers 2G, 3G and 4G services in these two areas in Punjab and it also offers 4G on mobile in Ludhiana. Verizon launches XLTE, offers twice the 4G LTE bandwidth

Verizon Wireless has launched XLTE, a new LTE service for their customers in select cities that would offer twice the LTE bandwidth. This uses 1700/2100 MHz AWS spectrum, in addition to the usual 700 MHz spectrum. Verizon promises faster peak data speeds and a minimum of double the bandwidth in high traffic areas with XLTE. Airtel has launched 4G services in Ludhiana, Punjab. WhatsApp is the current leader in the instant messaging app market with over 500 million monthly active users globally. In April WhatsApp CEO Jan Koum also touted that the service has over 48 million monthly active users in India.The cross platform app which was acquired by Facebook in February this year, has joined hands with Airtel to provide special data packs.

TDSAT allows 3G Intra-circle roaming pacts between Airtel, Vodafone and Idea


The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) today cleared the 3G intra-circle roaming agreements signed between Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular by saying that the 3G intra-circle-roaming (ICR) does not violate the Unified Access Service Licence (UASL) license, reports ET. It has also quashed all penalties imposed by the Department of Telecom (DoT) on these operators last year.

Videocon Telecom to launch 4G services by December 2014

Videocon Telecommunications plans launch its 4G services using FDD-LTE technology by December 2014, according to a report by ETTelecom. It would initially launch the services in Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. At the 4G World India conference, Videocon Telecom CEO Arvind Bali said to ETTelecom that it plans to launch the services between December to January and would launch it in 10 towns initially.
