The year 2013 has been great for the smartphone market, especially the Indian smartphone market. The latest trend in the Indian mid-range phablet market is the inclusion of a Full HD 1080p display in the smartphones and rightly so, every manufacturer has come up or is coming up with a Full HD smartphone and one among them is Zen. Zen’s Ultrafone Amaze 701 FHD comes with a 5inch Full HD display and is powered by the new MediaTek MT6589T quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, Power VR SGX544 GPU and is somewhat let down by just 1GB of RAM. However, it is equipped with a 13MP camera on the back which has become a mandatory for Indian manufacturers these days.

Zen launched the Ultrafone Amaze 701 FHD, the company’s latest flagship smartphone last month. We already brought you the unboxing of the device, here we have the benchmarks. The phone has a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean).  Let’s find out how this compete with other devices in range of synthetic benchmark tests when compared to other smartphones with a full HD display and a similar MT6589T including the Spice Pinnacle FHD Mi-525Gionee Elife E6Intex Aqua i7 and the recently launched Micromax Canvas Turbo.

Zen launched the Ultrafone 701 HD back in April at a price tag of Rs. 11,999. We brough you the unboxing of the device earlier this week. Here we have the benchmarks of the device.  It has 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 Cortex A7 CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz with PowerVR SGX544 GPU. Most of the phones in the Indian market have the similar MediaTek chip. Let’s see how it performs when compared to other other smartphones in the similar price range.

The Zen Ultrafone 701 HD is yet another entrant into the already crowded “5 inch 720p screen, quad core processor” market that has been flooded with a lot of phones this year. However, with a price tag of Rs. 11,999 this seems to be the cheapest of the lot in that range. Equipped with very similar specs to that of the various other smartphones in this price range, the device has landed in our office for testing. Zen Mobiles has announced that the Ultrafone 501 and the Ultrafone 303 new Android smartphones would launch later this month. The company launched the Ultrafone 701 HD with 5-inch HD display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor last month. The Ultrafone 501 is a mid-range phone with a 4-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). The Ultrafone 303 has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1 GHz single-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Pre-bookings for the phone started earlier this month.  It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It packs a a 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor, full HD video recording, Panorama Shot, and Burst shot with upto 99 shots on the go. It has a 3.2 MP front-facing camera and comes with dual SIM support with dual Standby. This is the company’s first high-end smartphone sin the Ultrafone category, and it is aimed at smart and tech savvy youth. It has a It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor,  and a 3.2MP front-facing camera. Most of the specifications are similar to the Micromax A116 Canvas HD. The company launched the Ultraphone U4, a budget Android smartphone earlier this year.
