Xiaomi just announced Redmi K40, K40 Pro and K40 Pro+ smartphones in China as it had announced. These pack a 6.67-inch E4 AMOLED screen with MEMC, 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate, DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+, 8,192 levels of dimming and 2.76mm ultra-small punch-hole that houses a 20MP camera. The K40 is powered by Snapdragon 870 SoC and the Pro models are powered by Snapdragon 888 5nm SoC, both supporting up to 12GB of RAM.
Mi India completed 5 years of the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Mi India was earlier manufacturing all of its smartphones in India via its manufacturing partners: Foxconn and Flex. Xiaomi under its Redmi brand launched the Redmi 9 Power in India back in December starting at Rs. 10999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version and the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage version was launched at Rs. 11,999. Today it has launched the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version at Rs. 12,999. It comes in Mighty Black, Blazing Blue, Fiery Red and Electric Green colours and will be available across Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home stores and Mi Studio starting today, 22 February 2021 12 noon. Update: Redmi today posted an image of the phone in Black colour with water-like pattern on the back. The company also confirmed 4520mAh battery for the phone. It already confirmed Dolby Atoms, Stereo speakers, Hi-Res audio certification and E4 AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate with a 2.8mm tiny centre punch-hole camera for the phone.

After teasers Xiaomi has confirmed that it will introduce the new RedmiBook Pro, the company’s top-end laptop in China on February 25th along with the Redmi K40 series. The company already confirmed it will feature 11th Gen Intel Core i7 H35-series Special Edition processor and MX450 GPU. The laptop will come with a 2K display compared to Full HD display in earlier RedmiBook Pro models. After posting teasers last month, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand today confirmed the launch of its Redmi K40 series smartphones in China on February 25th. This was confirmed by Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing who already that confirmed that the pricing will start at 2,999 yuan (US$ 460 / Rs. 33,993 approx.) and the series will include a cost-effective phone powered by the flagship Snapdragon 888 Mobile Platform which should be K40 Pro. Xiaomi introduced the MIUI 12.5, the next intermediate MIUI update in China back in December, and today it has confirmed the list of features that are coming as well as the Global roll-out details and list of devices getting it, as expected. Based on MIUI 12, the MIUI 12.5 has a strong focus on system optimizations. After a complete revamp of the system UI, its CPU usage was reduced by up to 22% while power consumption – by up to 15%, ensuring frictionless performance and graphics, said the company. Xiaomi just announced Mi 11, the company’s latest flagship smartphone for the global markets as it had promised. It packs a 6.81-inch E4 AMOLED quad curved DotDisplay with peak brightness of 1,500 nits, 120Hz refresh rate and touch sampling rate of 480Hz and MEMC motion compensation. It has JNCD of 0.38 and uses its self-developed color calibration algorithm. The phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus that offers better scratch and drop resistance. Xiaomi’s recently posted a new video of Lei Jun in conversation with Mi Fan. Lei Jun has confirmed that Xiaomi will launch new MIX series smartphone and Mi Pad tablet this year. This news has also been confirmed by Xiaomi’s product director Wang Teng Thomas and other company executives. Xiaomi introduced the Mi MIX 3 back in 2018 and started rolling out the Mi MIX 3 in 2019.
