Xiaomi MIUI App Vault gets option to Check train PNR, Trending apps cards and more

Update 2 – July 2018: Xiaomi has added couple of new cards including ‘Check train PNR’ and ‘Trending apps’ to MIUI App Vault. Xiaomi has partnered with Ixigo for ‘Check train PNR’ service which can be used to check PNR status without leaving the home screen. Users need to enter their 10 digit PNR number for their upcoming train journey to see all the details. The card also shows recently checked PNR numbers which is really helpful as users don’t need to enter PNR number each time they check PNR status for the same journey. Xiaomi India offers a chance to own the Mi A2 before launch

Xiaomi introduced the Mi A2 smartphone as the successor of the Mi A1, at an event in Spain yesterday. Xiaomi introduces Redmi Note 5 (Redmi Note 5 Pro) 6GB RAM, 128GB storage version in China

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone in India in 4GB / 6GB LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB (eMMC 5.0) storage. Later it introduced the same phone as Redmi Note 5 with better specifications in China, but with the same 64GB storage. Now the company has introduced the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version of the smartphone in China. This comes after the Flame Red version of the smartphone that was introduced last month. Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Android One smartphone with 5.84-inch FHD+ 19:9 display, AI dual rear cameras, 4000mAh battery announced

Xiaomi has announced Mi A2 Lite, the company’s latest mid-range Android One smartphone along with the Mi A2, as it had promised. It packs a 5.84-inch FHD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch, is powered by Snapdragon 625 with up to 4GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo), a 12-megapixel rear camera with flash along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera for AI portraits and AI scene detection. There is also a 5-megapixel front camera with AI portrait and AI Face unlock.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Android One smartphone with 5.99-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 660, 6GB RAM, 12MP + 20MP dual rear cameras announced

Xiaomi just announced Mi A2, the company’s latest Android One smartphones at an event in Spain, as it had promised. It is the global version of the Mi 6X which was introduced in April, has a 5.99-inch FHD+ 18:9 display, is powered by Snapdragon 660, has a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/1.75 aperture, Sony IMX486 sensor along with a 20-megapixel secondary rear camera with Sony IMX376 sensor to capture depth information for portrait shots with AI, has intelligent scene detection and has auto sensor section . It also has the same 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor for the front camera with soft LED flash and AI beautification.

Samsung and Xiaomi accounted for 9.9 million smartphone shipments in India in Q2 2018: Canalys

According to Canalys, Samsung, and Xiaomi each shipped a total of 9.9 million smartphones in the last quarter in India. Together, both the companies now account for a 60% market share which is up from 43% the same time last year. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 with 6.9-inch FHD+ display, 5500mAh battery teased in images ahead of July 19 announcement

Last week Xiaomi confirmed that it will unveil the Mi Max 3 smartphone in China on July 19th. Today Xiaomi co-founder and President Bin Lin has shared images of the smartphone in Blue Black and Gold colors. He said that even though the phone has a large 6.9-inch screen, the phone doesn’t feel big in hand. He also said that the 5500mAh battery will offer long battery life.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Android One smartphone confirmed to be announced alongside Mi A2 on July 24

Last week Xiaomi sent out invites for the global launch of a new smartphone in Spain on July 24th. Yesterday the company started teasing the launch of the successor of Mi A1 smartphone. Today, the company said that it will be launching two smartphones at the event, as expected. The second smartphone that will join the Mi A2 will be the Mi A2 Lite, the global version of the Redmi 6 Pro which was introduced last month, and even passed through the FCC  recently. Xiaomi Mi A1 Android 8.1 update resumes with July 2018 Android security patch, SMS issue fix

Xiaomi Mi A1 finally got stable Android 8.1 (Oreo) update for last month, but it was pulled quickly after users started complaining about the SMS bug that wipes entire SMS history after updating. After testing a beta ROM earlier this month, Xiaomi today has started rolling out a new update for the Mi A1 A1 userse to fix the issue.
