Xiaomi has officially introduced the REDMI Note 17 standard edition, positioning the smartphone as a high-capacity device focused on a “large screen and large battery along with the REDMI Note 17 Pro.
Display and Design
The REDMI Note 17 features the brand’s first 7-inch ultra-large OLED display. The screen delivers a resolution of 2396×1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. According to the manufacturer, the display covers the DCI-P3 wide color gamut and features a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1. For enhanced user interaction, it includes an instantaneous touch sampling rate of 2160Hz, in-display fingerprint recognition, and a specialized “glove mode” for operation in colder environments.
The smartphone is available in three color variants: black, light aquamarine, and meteor purple.
Performance and Battery Life
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 mobile platform, built on a 4nm process technology. Xiaomi states that this configuration enables the device to handle mainstream MOBA games at high-definition settings smoothly.
A central highlight of the device is its 8,000mAh “Jinshajiang” battery. By leveraging an increased energy density of 821Wh/L, the phone is advertised to achieve up to two days of operational life on a single charge. It supports 45W wired fast charging alongside a 22.5W wired reverse charging feature, allowing the phone to function as a portable power bank for other devices.
The battery chemistry is rated to maintain at least 80% of its capacity after 1,600 charge-discharge cycles. Additional hardware utilities include multi-functional NFC, an infrared remote control, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage.
Software and AI Anti-Fraud Tools
On the software side, the REDMI Note 17 introduces several built-in safety features, highlighted by an AI-powered end-to-end anti-fraud system. Trained on real-world case data, the local AI model is designed to identify, alert, and block scripted scam calls. Additionally, the system can detect AI-generated deepfake video calls in real time, automatically triggering pop-up warnings for the user.
The device also debuts a bank card anti-theft technology that provides three layers of full-process protection. For users requiring additional oversight or assistance—such as elderly family members—the phone supports remote assistance features for virus scanning, system optimization, and software uninstallation. It can also be configured to synchronize the user’s location data in real time for safety tracking.
