Samsung has reported its earnings for Q1 2021 that ended March 31, 2021 in which the company has made an operating profit of 9.38 trillion won, up 40.3% YoY. This is due to solid sales of smartphones and consumer electronics that outweighed lower earnings from semiconductors and displays. It posted 65.39 trillion won consolidated revenue, up 18.18% YoY. The company will also be offering a drop-only service for those customers who have given their phones for service at a Samsung authorized service center and only wants their phone delivered post repair.

Samsung has reportedly decided to stop including a 3D ToF sensor in their Galaxy S smartphone series, starting with the Galaxy S22 next year, according to a new report. The company made the decision to remove the sensor after they realised that the sensor was underutilized and did not spur the development for applications that took advantage of it.
