Samsung has announced the Galaxy S4 LTE-A, world’s first LTE Advanced-capable smartphone in Korea that would offer twice the speeds of LTE. It has a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) similar to the Galaxy S4, but this one is powered by a  2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor instead of Snapdragon 600 in the LTE version of the Galaxy S4. Other features are the same including a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, Full HD video recording, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and 2600 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy Core officially launched in India for Rs. 15690


Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Core, a new Android smartphone in the Galaxy series in India. It was spotted on the official Samsung India website last week and went on sale online few days back. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) LCD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has Dual SIM support with Smart dual SIM feature and packs a 5-megapixel Auto Focus rear Camera with LED Flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Samsung have been shoe-horning Android and mobile modems into their cameras for the better part of a year for reasons that most people, myself included struggle to understand. With the Galaxy NX however, this move is starting to make a degree of sense. The Galaxy Camera, while equipped with significant levels of optical zoom, underwhelmed as a camera in many regards. It was much larger than a typical point & shoot, much more expensive and took arguably worse pictures; a hard sell under the best circumstances. The Galaxy Camera was the first smart camera to be powered by the Android OS but this year, Samsung have taken a different route to introducing smart cameras with the launch of the Galaxy NX with interchangeable lenses and the Galaxy S4 Zoom. As the name implies, the Galaxy S4 Zoom is the camera equivalent of the Galaxy S4 but it does have some great benefits that will appeal to the hardcore camera users. The S4 Zoom is the first smartphone to come with 10X Optical Zoom and also features a 16MP CMOS sensor with Xenon Flash. Yes you read right – the Galaxy S4 Zoom is a smartphone with an excellent camera. The S4 Zoom remains a very unique device as it is able to make and receive phone calls and act just like a smartphone.

We found the Ascend Mate as one of the best phablets under Rs. 25,000. Samsung launched Galaxy Note 2 in India last year, which is still one of the popular phablet in the India market. The company is also promoting the phone through EMI offers and Smart upgrade offers. The Huawei Ascend Mate would give a tough competition to the Note 2 mainly due the large screen and the price tag. Last year Samsung started a new trend by announcing a mini version of their Galaxy S III flagship and shortly after the launch of this year’s Galaxy S4 flagship, they continued the trend by announcing the Galaxy S4 Mini. As the name suggests, the handset is a smaller version of the flagship but although it’s smaller and comes with a smaller price tag, it still packs a punch and will appeal to many users who found the original Galaxy S4 too big.

Samsung unveils Pink, Blue, Red, Purple and Brown Galaxy S4

Samsung announced last month that the Galaxy S4 would be available in new colors including Blue Arctic and Red Aurora, followed by Purple Mirage and Brown Autumn this summer. Now the company has announced at the Samsung Premier 2013 event in London that the phone would also come in Pink Twilight color variant. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was launched in Black Mist and White Frost color variants and the Blue Artic variant went on sale from NTT Docomo in Japan last month. Samsung is now no.1 in India, leaps ahead of Nokia in overall mobile shipments

Amidst tough competition from various home brands like Karbonn, Micromax and Lava, Samsung has finally snatched the no.1 spot from Nokia as the leader in overall mobile shipments. The market in India is currently highly saturated with numerous models from various homegrown manufacturers but the two stalwarts of the mobile industry have so far been the leaders when it comes to overall share. Nokia had been the no. 1 in overall shipments for a long time in India, mainly because the country was a feature phone market. But as the market has now matured, Nokia is finding it tough to adapt with its new Windows Phone strategy. Samsung has finally achieved what it always secretly wanted, to trump Nokia in India, and it has done it now.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Mega 6.3 (GT-I9200) in India at a price tag of Rs. 31,490 along with the Mega 5.8 last month. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 went on pre-order from online retailers last week, the phone is now available from those retailers. The official Samsung eStore is still taking pre-orders for the device. It has a 6.3-inch HD ( 1280 x 720 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Review

The Galaxy Note 8.0 launched way back in February, at the Mobile World Congress as the first 8 inch screened device in the Galaxy Note series. The surprising addition was that the cellular edition of the device could make calls and lets you use it like a phone thanks to the on-device ear piece. It was extremely awkward to see people holding a huge device to their face but worry not, we have got the 16 GB WiFi only version for review here and we are going to see whether the Note 8.0 is really worth your money. Samsung is in talks with several carriers to introduce its LTE-Advanced version of the Samsung Galaxy S4. LTE Advanced 4G is an upgrade from the conventional LTE networks deployed currently and offers a data transmission speed at up to double the speeds of standard 4G networks.

Samsung Galaxy NX mirrorless camera with Android onboard shows up in press shots

Samsung’s JK Shin today hinted that the company might be ready to announce an Android powered mirrorless camera soon and right on cue, press images have turned up for the device. The images that first shower up on a Vietnamese gadget site depict the Galaxy NX which has interchangeable lenses and an Android device tacked on at the back.
