Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A9 Pro (SM-A9100), the company’s latest top-end smartphone in the ‘Galaxy A’ series in China, after it surfaced last month. It packs a 6-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 652 (Previously 620) processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera, similar to the A9, but this a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), 4GB of RAM and a 5000mAh battery. Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016), it’s new selfie-focused smartphones and successors of last year’s Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones in China. The Galaxy J5 (2016) has a 5.2-inch HD screen and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor and the Galaxy  J7 (2016) has a 5.5-inch 1080p screen and is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor. Today the company has launched two new premium variants of the Gear S2 Classic, one encased in 18K Rose Gold and another in Platinum and also the Gear S2 smartwatch in White color in the country. This phone needs no introduction and I’m not going to bore you with a history of the Galaxy S lineup since most of you already know it. Almost everyone knows what Samsung has managed to do and the smartphone has been making the headlines for all the right reasons even before and after its announcement and subsequent release. We spent a lot of time with the flagship device from Samsung to see what they bring to the table this year. At a first glance, the smartphone looks like the biggest leap in the Galaxy S lineup since the Galaxy S II. The question is not about whether this smartphone is a worthy successor to the S6 edge or not but whether this is the best flagship smartphone available in the market right now. Let’s find out.

Samsung launched its flagship Galaxy S7 edge smartphone in India earlier this month priced at Rs. 56,900. We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have its benchmarks. It is powered by Octa-Core 14 nm Exynos 8890 SoC which has combination of four custom designed CPU cores, two of them clocked at 2.6 GHz per core, other two clocked at 2.3 GHz per core and four ARM Cortex A53 CPUs are clocked at 1.59GHz per core. It has Mali-T880 MP12 GPU and 4GB RAM LPDDR4 RAM. It has a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).

Samsung launched the Galaxy S7 edge smartphone in India earlier this month for Rs. 56900. We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have the battery life test results. The Galaxy S7 edge packs a 3600mAh built-in battery with support for Samsung’s Adaptive fast charging that can charge the phone fully in about an hour. It has a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen, is powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 8890 SoC and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Samsung’s own UI on top. Check out the test results.

Samsung has published a new video to test the water and dust resistant abilities of its new Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones. In the tests IPX1 & IPX2 water resistance first against dripping water, IPX5 water resistance against water jets and IPX7 & IPX8 water resistance against continuous submersion in water. Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) Review

When the Samsung first announced the Galaxy Alpha after the Galaxy S5 debacle, it seemed like the company was trying to head in a new direction. For years, it had been criticised about the build quality and plastic materials of its smartphones. The Galaxy Alpha addressed many of those issues but was over-priced and had a lot of shortcomings. Jump to March 2015 when I reviewed the Samsung Galaxy A7 right after the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge announcement and I could see Samsung’s plans falling into place. The A7 was a fresh new take on what a mid-ranger should be and showcased what Samsung is capable of achieving given the right push. Fast forward to today and now we have the second generation i.e A7 (2016) which builds on the same ideals as the original but promises to refine the smartphone and provide a premium experience in a mid-ranger smartphone like never before.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge were good devices and upgrades to the S5 in many ways. However, one feature that went missing in the pursuit for better build quality is the waterproof abilities of the Galaxy S5. Don’t get me wrong, the customers demanded and Samsung provided with better build quality and premium materials but the waterproof ability was definitely something worth having and fortunately Samsung have brought back the feature with the S7 and S7 Edge.
