Update: Another render shows a similar front design with dual front cameras, but also shows quad rear cameras arranged horizontally, unlike the Galaxy A9. The flash and sensors are arranged vertically, next to the camera.

Samsung and Verizon demonstrate 5G data transmission using 400MHz of mmWave spectrum

Samsung, Qualcomm, and Verizon have announced a successful 5G New Radio (NR) data connection using 400MHz of bandwidth in the 28GHz spectrum, resulting in maximum throughput of more than 1.7 Gbps. The data connection demonstrated the delivery of multi-gigabit 5G speeds to a smartphone form-factor mobile test device. Samsung Galaxy Note9 One UI based Android 9.0 Pie beta update starts rolling out

Samsung has finally opened up Galaxy Note 9 One UI based on Android Pie beta after it by mistakenly opened registrations in the US last week.  The beta testing is now rolling out in Germany and India. The registrations are now open through the Samsung Members app and the update is about 1.5GB in size. Samsung Galaxy Note9 512GB buyers in India get 512GB EVO Plus microSD card at a discounted rate

Samsung recently introduced its EVO Plus 512GB microSD Card for Rs. 22,900. Today the company has announced that buyers of the 512GB version of the Galaxy Note9 smartphone can get it the card for just Rs. 4,999, after a flat 78% discount of Rs. 17,900.

Samsung, Verizon team up to bring first commercial 5G smartphone early 2019

Verizon and Samsung announced that they will bring the first commercial 5G smartphone to the market in the first half of 2019. The companies will unveil a proof of concept, powered by the upcoming flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile Platform with the Snapdragon X50 5G NR modem and antenna modules with integrated RF transceiver, RF front-end, and antenna elements, at the annual Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit later this week. Samsung Galaxy A8s with 6.39-inch Infinity-O FHD+ display, triple rear cameras to be announced on December 10

After Huawei confirmed the announcement of Nova 4 with in-display on December 17th, Samsung has confirmed that it will introduce its A8s smartphone with display hole for the camera on December 10th, a week before Huawei. FCC certification revealed a tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio display, and a space on the left corner of the phone for the display hole so that it doesn’t have any icons.

Samsung Galaxy A8s (SM-G8870) has passed through the FCC ahead of the announcement next month. In the FCC documents, there is a screenshot that reveals tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio display, and there is also a space on the left corner of the phone for the display hole so that it doesn’t have any icons left.

Samsung said to invest $40 million in Niantic for ‘exclusive games’ including Harry Potter game for Galaxy smartphones

Samsung is said to be planning to invest close to $40 million in Pokémon Go game creator Niantic in a deal to bring out “exclusive games,” according to sources. Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) Benchmarks

Samsung launched the Galaxy A9 2018, world’s first smartphone with quad rear cameras in India last week. We already brought you the unboxing, here we have the benchmarks.  The phone is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 64-bit 14nm Mobile Platform that has four Kryo 260 CPUs clocked at 2.2GHz per core and other four Kryo 260 CPUs are clocked at 1.8GHz per core, comes with Adreno 512 GPU and has 6GB of RAM, however it also comes in 8GB RAM version. It runs Android 8.1 (Oreo). Check out the synthetic benchmark scores.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus powered by Exynos 9820 8nm SoC surfaces in benchmarks

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 will be powered by the Exynos 9820 that is an 8nm SoC with Tri-cluster CPU, integrated NPU, up to 2Gbps LTE-Advanced Pro modem. Before the official launch, the first Galaxy S10 Exynos 9820 benchmark has surfaced online. It is internally referred to as “beyond2” and should be branded as the Galaxy S10+ when it goes official.
