Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) Unboxing and First Impressions


Samsung launched the Galaxy A9 2018, world’s first smartphone with quad rear cameras in India earlier this week. Here we have the unboxing of the smartphone.

The new Galaxy A9 packs a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display without a notch, is powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM, comes with a 24-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and runs Android Oreo. It has 128GB of internal storage, in addition to a dedicated microSD slot that accepts cards up to 512GB.

The main highlight is its quad rear cameras, compared to triple rear cameras in the company’s latest Galaxy A7 (2018) that we reviewed recently. The phone features a 24-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 10-megapixel Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture for 2x loss-less zoom, an 8-megapixel 120° Ultra Wide Lens for wide-angle photos and there is also a 5-megapixel sensor to capture depth information for portrait shots. There is a small LED flash below the sensors.

It has a glass back with gradiant design, rear mounted fingerprint sensor and packs a 3,800mAh battery with support for fast charging.

Priced at Rs. 36,990 for the 6GB RAM version and the Rs. 39,990 for the 8GB RAM version, it is already available for pre-order from Flipkart, Amazon.in, Samsung Online Shop and Airtel Online Store  and will go on sale from November 28th. We will bring you the complete review soon.
