All About Symbian is reporting that theres a major upgrade to the Nokia N95 8GB firmware available for download. You can see the screenshot below which shows the possibility to upgrade from version 11 to version 15.

Nokia Siemens Networks bags multi-million Euro IVR deal from Bharti Airtel

Nokia Siemens has just bagged a multi-million euro deal from Bharti Airtel for deployment of a single Interactive Voice Response (IVR) . Bharti Airtel awarded this pan India contract to Nokia Siemens Networks for deployment of a single Interactive Voice Response (IVR) platform across all 23 circles. The three year turnkey and multi-million Euro contract includes designing, planning, systems integration and optimization services to enhance overall customer experience. The new IVR solution will enable Airtel to deliver Services such as Voice SMS, Televoting, Call Management Services (Reach-me service / Missed Call Advisor), Caller Ring back Tone (CRBT) and Voice Portal among others on a faster time-to-market basis, reduce OPEX costs due to optimized network utilization, and increase security by creation of a layered architecture towards Interactive Voice applications.

Nokia Siemens Networks will deploy and integrate the latest state-of-the-art platforms to provide a multi-technology, multi-vendor integrated solution that includes systems integration services. The platforms are HP OCMP (Open Call Management Platform), Video Gateway, Televoting Application and ASR/TTS (Automatic Speech Recognition / Text-to-Speech Engine. The solution will be ready for commercial operation by April 2008 and is expected to scale up to one billion minutes of usage per month in three years for Bharti Airtel. Nokia came up with Red colored Nokia N95, and then they added black color to the Nokia N95 8Gb. Recently a Pink colored clamshell of Nokia surfaced on the Internet. Nokia keeps on adding different color to new versions of mobile handsets, whereas companies like Blackberry who make serious business phones don’t play much with colors, this doesn’t mean that Nokia is not serious about what its doing guys. Microsoft Bolsters Mobile by entering mobile advertising space

Microsoft is entering the mobile advertising space. The move can be seen as an indication that Mobile is really getting big. Microsoft will now place banner ads on msn portals seen through mobile screens.

As of now Bank of America, Jaguar Cars, and Paramount pictures have been signed on as advertisers.

Since Microsoft launched the MSN Mobile platform in June, it has taken great pains to add content to enhance the browser-based, rich-media experience. Just last week, the company launched an astrology channel and added a spate of new ring tones, wallpapers, games and other content available for download on the portal, which by the way already sports a lot of features anyway!

Broadly, Microsoft’s mobile strategy consists of two parts: developed and developing markets. In areas falling in the first category, such as the United States, Japan and Europe, the software giant is looking to carry into mobile the usage patterns customers have developed for Microsoft products on their PCs. LG to introduce mobile technology for medical purposes

Mobile phones do a lot these days. They are serving every purpose known to man to keep him informed and updated and to enable him to keep track of his appointments, commitments etc. Mobiles also help you keep connected.

Now mobile phones will also do much more. Nokia revealed the Eco Sensor concept a few days ago, which is a mobile phone and a sensing device that will help monitor your health and environment as well.
