OPPO R9 and R9 Plus with 4GB RAM, 16MP front and rear cameras get certified in China

OPPO teased its upcoming flagship R9 smartphone recently. Now both the R9 and R9 Plus smartphones have been certified on TENAA in China. These smartphones have a 5.5-inch and 6-inch 1080p AMOLED displays, respectively as rumored earlier, but doesn’t seem to have a quad-core Snapdragon 820 or Deca-Core Helio X20 SoC. OPPO today teased its upcoming R9 camera-focused smartphone. Even though OPPO did not reveal the announcement date, it just said that the event will be scheduled in the Spring, which starts in March. The teaser hints at a sleek metal body and SIM slot on the right side of the phone. OPPO unveiled the R7 and R7 Plus smartphones back in May last year. OPPO today announced its new VOOC Super Flash Charge technology at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 in Barcelona. It can charge a device with a 2500mAh battery to 45% in just five minutes, offering 10 hours of talk time and fully charge it in just 15 minutes. “It is achieved by applying a newly developed low-voltage pulse-charge algorithm, along with OPPO’s customized battery, multiple technical innovations, as well as first-class hardware and software,” said OPPO. OPPO launched the F1, its first selfie-centric smartphone in the new ‘F series’ for Rs. 15,990 in India recently. We already brought you the unboxing, benchmarks and the battery life test results of the smartphone, here we have camera samples from the smartphone. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). Since it is a selfie-centric smartphone, it has a 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. It doesn’t have a flash on the front, but it has option to use the screen as a flash light.

OPPO launched the F1, its first selfie-centric smartphone in the new ‘F series’ for Rs. 15,990 last week. We already brought you the unboxing and photo gallery of the smartphone, here we have the benchmarks. It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 64-bit processor (Even though CPU-Z shows it has Snapdragon 615) that has four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.50 GHz per core and other four Cortex A53 cores are clocked at 1.21 GHz per core. It has Adreno 405 GPU clocked at 550 MHz, 3GB RAM, 5-inch HD screen and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Color OS 2.1 . Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below.
