HTC today reported a net loss of NT$ 3.1 billion ($100 million) or loss of NT$3.77 per share, on revenue of NT$ 22.2 billion ($720.7 million) for its fiscal 2016 fourth quarter that ended December 31, 2016. This is the seventh consecutive loss for the company. Operating profit was down 12.1% year-on-year to NT$ 3.6 billion ($116.8 million) with operating margin of -16.0%. HTC today launched HTC 10 evo, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘HTC 10’ series in India. It was introduced back in November last year as the global version of the HTC Bolt and doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack instead it uses USB Type-C audio. It comes with HTC BoomSound Adaptive Audio, which scans your ears and the ambient noise around you to adjust audio output to suit your personal hearing capabilities. HTC today announced HTC U Play, a smaller version of the HTC U Ultra with a 5.2-inch 1080p display without a secondary screen. This has the has same glass design with a metal frame and HTC Sense Companion for AI-based suggestions. This is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor, has 16-megapixel front and rear cameras and a fingerprint sensor on the front.

HTC just announced U Ultra, the company’s flagship smartphone in the new ‘U series’. The main highlight of the smartphone is the 2-inch 520 PPI secondary touch-screen display above the main display, like the LG V20. It has a glass finish on the front and back, and a metal frame and the rear glass is fully curved at all four edges. HTC says that it has developed a unique process called optical spectrum hybrid deposition” to give the glass multi-layered color.
