Apple’s foray into making desktop-class processor was highly successful with the launch of M1. The company is reportedly working on 2nd gen and 3rd gen processors that will succeed the 1st gen M1 chips that will be built on TSMC’s 5nm and 3nm process respectively, and they are expected to outperform the equivalent future chips from Intel.

About two weeks ago, Apple unveiled their newest additions to the MacBook line up, which included the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops with M1 Pro and M1 Max processors. iFixit has performed and posted their teardowns of these laptops, showcasing the internals and changes that Apple has made with this generation.
Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $83.4 billion, an increase of 29% from a year ago, and setting a new quarter revenue record, despite larger-than-expected supply constraints. It posted a net profit of $20.6 billion, up 20.6% YoY and quarterly earnings per diluted share of $1.24 for the financial year Q4 2021 that ended September 25, 2021. A few months ago, Apple unveiled the new version of their desktop and laptop operating system, called macOS Monterey. With it, Apple introduced loads of features such as a Safari redesign, Universal Control and more. Apple at its ‘Unleashed’ event announced M1 Pro and M1 Max, the next-generation chips and successor to last year’s M1 promises up to 70% faster CPU performance. The GPU in M1 Pro is up to 2x faster than M1, while M1 Max is up to 4x faster than M1, says Apple. These are still based on the 5nm process technology, but come with a system-on-a-chip (SoC) architecture featuring an unified memory, better performance per watt, and incredible power efficiency, along with increased memory bandwidth and capacity. At their Unleashed event today, Apple announced a new subscription tier for their Apple Music music streaming service, simply called the Voice Plan. As the name suggests, this new tier is designed to work with Apple’s Siri voice assistant, and offers many of the same benefits as the more expensive subscription tiers.
At the ‘Unleashed’ event, Apple launched its 3rd generation AirPods, as expected. It has a new design, same as the AirPods Pro, and also supports spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, longer battery life and also comes with Adaptive EQ powered by computational audio.
