A few months ago, Apple unveiled the new version of their desktop and laptop operating system, called macOS Monterey. With it, Apple introduced loads of features such as a Safari redesign, Universal Control and more. With the launch of the new Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max processors last week, Apple refreshed their MacBook Pro lineup with major upgrades across the board. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is reportedly working on new models in the MacBook Air lineup which is expected to have the biggest redesign since 2010.

Apple at its ‘Unleashed’ event announced M1 Pro and M1 Max, the next-generation chips and successor to last year’s M1 promises up to 70% faster CPU performance. The GPU in M1 Pro is up to 2x faster than M1, while M1 Max is up to 4x faster than M1, says Apple. These are still based on the 5nm process technology, but come with a system-on-a-chip (SoC) architecture featuring an unified memory, better performance per watt, and incredible power efficiency, along with increased memory bandwidth and capacity. At their Unleashed event today, Apple announced a new subscription tier for their Apple Music music streaming service, simply called the Voice Plan. As the name suggests, this new tier is designed to work with Apple’s Siri voice assistant, and offers many of the same benefits as the more expensive subscription tiers.
At the ‘Unleashed’ event, Apple launched its 3rd generation AirPods, as expected. It has a new design, same as the AirPods Pro, and also supports spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, longer battery life and also comes with Adaptive EQ powered by computational audio. There are new force sensor controls for easy and intuitive control of music and phone calls, and it also supports wireless charging. Apple is reportedly working on a new project that will improve upon the capabilities of CarPlay and provide deeper integration with an iPhone. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the project is codenamed “IronHeart”, and has the objective of connecting the iPhone to more smart functionalities in a car.
Apple has rolled out a new firmware update for the AirPods Pro that enables a new hearing accessibility feature called Conversation Boost. It is designed to help people with hearing impairments listen better when having a conversation with another person.
