Apple introduces M2 Pro and M2 Max SoCs with up to 20% faster CPU, 30% faster GPU

Apple has announced two new chips called the M2 Pro and M2 Max. The M2 Pro offers up to a 12-core CPU and up to a 19-core GPU, while the M2 Max builds on the capabilities of the M2 Pro, including an up to 38-core GPU. MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips expected between Fall 2022 and Spring 2023

It is still anticipated that Apple will release a few M2 Macs between 2022 and 2023 after launching the M2 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman stated in his Power On newsletter that the firm has an internal goal to introduce the new M2 Pro as well as the M2 Max MacBook Pro as early as this fall. Apple said to be working on M2 Pro Mac Mini, new Apple TV, revamped HomePod, and more

Mark Gurman articulated additional M2 MacBook’s on Apple’s product roadmap in the most recent edition of his Power On newsletter for Bloomberg, which included new Mac mini models with M2 and M2 Pro chips, new 14-inch as well as 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, and then a new Mac Pro tower with M2 Ultra and “M2 Extreme” chipsets.
