Apple announced the new 13.6-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip inside at their WWDC 2022 Keynote event. According to new rumours, Apple is reportedly planning to expand their MacBook Air lineup with a 15-inch model and maybe a 12-inch model in the future.

iPadOS 16 Stage Manager will be supported only on M1 iPads

iPadOS 16 is one of the biggest updates to iPadOS in recent times, filled with features for multitasking and making it more PC-like. Among these updates is Stage Manager, which allows users to resize tabs, reorder them, and group multiple apps together. Unfortunately, it appears to only be supported on iPad models powered by the M1 chip.

It has an 8-core CPU offering up to 18% faster CPU performance than the previous generation and the new 10-core GPU is up to 35% more powerful, and has a 40% faster Neural Engine, says Apple. It supports up to 24GB of fast unified memory, and adds a next-generation media engine and a powerful ProRes video engine for hardware-accelerated encode. Apple introduces M2 5nm Octa-Core SoC with 10-Core GPU, up to 24GB unified memory

Apple at its WWDC event announced M2, the company’s new ARM-based SoC for the Mac, as the successor to the M1 that was introduced in 2020. It uses second generation 5-nanometer process technology, and has 25 billion transistors, 25% more than M1. The additional transistors improve features across the entire chip, including the memory controller that delivers 100GB/s of unified memory bandwidth — 50% more than M1. WWDC 2022: iPadOS could get new multitasking features

Apple’s AR/MR headsets not expected at WWDC 2022

There have been serious rumours for months that Apple is working on Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality headsets, and many have anticipated that they will be introduced at WWDC 2022, which will take place on June 6th. However, Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple product analyst, believes that Apple’s AP/MR headsets, as well as a dedicated OS for them, will not be available until 2023.
