Apple held their keynote event for WWDC 2022 yesterday. At the event, they unveiled the next version of their iPhone’s operating system, called iOS 16. It features a new Lock Screen with support for widgets, support for iCloud Shared Photo Library, an enhanced Visual Look Up feature, an updated Messages app, Mail app and more.

macOS 13 Ventura brings Stage Manager, Continuity Camera, Facetime Handoff and more

iPadOS 16 introduces Stage Manager, external display support, Weather app and more

One of the biggest announcements at Apple’s WWDC 2022 Keynote event yesterday was the introduction of iPadOS 16. It is loaded with new features such as Stage Manager, full external display support, iCloud Shared Photo Library, Collaboration features via Messages, a new Weather app, a new Freeform app and more.

Apple updates 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 chip; India price starts at Rs. 1,29,900

Apple has updated its MacBook Pro 13-inch model with the new M2 chip, the same chip present in the new MacBook Air. The new M2 chip has an 8-core CPU offering up to 18% faster CPU performance than the previous generation and the new 10-core GPU is up to 35% more powerful, and has a 40% faster Neural Engine, says Apple. Apple at its WWDC event introduced its new MacBook Air powered by the new M2 chip, as expected. It has an 8-core CPU offering up to 18% faster CPU performance than the previous generation and the new 10-core GPU is up to 35% more powerful, and has a 40% faster Neural Engine, says Apple. It supports up to 24GB of fast unified memory, and adds a next-generation media engine and a powerful ProRes video engine for hardware-accelerated encode. Apple introduces M2 5nm Octa-Core SoC with 10-Core GPU, up to 24GB unified memory

Apple at its WWDC event announced M2, the company’s new ARM-based SoC for the Mac, as the successor to the M1 that was introduced in 2020. It uses second generation 5-nanometer process technology, and has 25 billion transistors, 25% more than M1. The additional transistors improve features across the entire chip, including the memory controller that delivers 100GB/s of unified memory bandwidth — 50% more than M1. Apple is set to hold their WWDC 2022 event today, and there are loads of rumours talking about the various announcements that Apple may make. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing to launch a new version of the iPadOS, iOS and more, however they are unlikely to launch their long-rumoured AR/VR headset.

WWDC 2022: iPadOS could get new multitasking features

Apple’s WWDC 2022 event is right around the corner, scheduled for June 6th. The company is expected to unveil the next version of iOS, along with various updates to iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and macOS. Among these, iPadOS will reportedly receive major upgrades to its multitasking features that should make the iPad more like a laptop and less like a phone.

Apple’s AR/MR headsets not expected at WWDC 2022

There have been serious rumours for months that Apple is working on Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality headsets, and many have anticipated that they will be introduced at WWDC 2022, which will take place on June 6th. TSMC’s roadmap reveals ‘A16’ SoC for this year’s iPhones will only use 5nm process

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that TSMC’s official roadmap for its silicon processes shows that its 3-nanometer or 4-nanometer production lines won’t be ready for full production until 2023. Another sign that the iPhone 14 series A16 processor will continue to be manufactured on the 5 nanometer technology only. Also, it’s obvious that the A16 chip will only be in the higher-end versions of the iPhone 14, while the A15 chip will stay in the lower-end versions. Apple reportedly focusing on manufacturing hub outside China

For a long time now, Apple has been increasingly dependent on Chinese facilities such as Foxconn, Pegatron, etc., for the manufacturing of its diverse product portfolio.
