Apple sells record 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones in 3 days

Last week Apple announced that it has received four million pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus in the first 24 hours. Today the company has announced that it has sold record-breaking 10 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models in just three days after the launch on September 19th. Last year’s iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C saw combined sales on 9 million units in three days after the launch. Apple iPhone 6 Contract-free T-Mobile version is carrier unlocked

Apple revealed the pricing of both contract and contract-free pricing for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus on the launch day and started taking pre-orders for these smartphones on September 12th. Both these started shipping September 19th in launch countries. The contract-free version that went on pre-order on the US Apple Store was mentioned as a T-Mobile variant, so it was not clear if it is unlocked or locked to the network. Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders top 4 million in first 24 hours

Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that were unveiled last week went on pre-order on September 12th in US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico and Singapore. Apple just announced that both these smartphones received four million pre-order in the first 24 hours. The iPhone 5 that was released back in September 2012 saw only 2 million pre-orders in the first 24 hours. Yahoo News Digest arrives on iPad

Yahoo has rolled out New Digest App on iPad that delivers twice daily digests, each consisting of eight to 12 stories based on the day’s biggest headlines.

The new version will also include a weekly video segment from anchor Katie Couric, recapping one news story from the past week. Yahoo launched the News Digest app in January this year. It is a product of Summly acquisition made by the company last year. The News Digest app was first available on iPhone and launched on Android later in May.

The app also brings a couple of additional features for the iPad. For starters, it has been optimized for a tablet and provides a beautiful landscape experience. Users can now customize the time of receiving the news update as per their convenience. They can choose anytime between 6am to 10am for the morning digest and 5pm to 9pm for their evening digest. Prior to this, these news updates came at a fixed time – 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Finally, after reading daily digest, users can further dig in for extra content on topics including technology and entertainment. You can download the Yahoo News Digest App for iPad from the Apple App Store.

Apple introduced both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus few hours back. Both the iPhone models look exactly similar, have the same anodized aluminum back, new curved design, Apple A8 processor with M8 motion coprocessor,  Touch ID fingerprint sensor, NFC and more. These main difference it the screen size. The iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch (1334 x 750 pixels) screen, while the iPhone 6 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) screen. Apple Watch will be compatible with iPhone 5 onwards

Apple unveiled the Apple Watch, the company’s first smartwatch at an event few hours back. Since the company announced the Apple Watch along with the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, it was clear that the smartwatch would support those two iPhone models, but the company surprised us by announcing that it would support iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c and even the iPhone 5 model running iOS 8. Apple teams up with T-Mobile in the US and EE in the UK for Wi-Fi calling

T-Mobile will offer Wi-Fi calling on the newly launched iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in the US while EE will provide the same in the UK. The popular US and UK carriers will be the first one to partner Apple for this feature that will allow users to make phone calls using a Wi-Fi network.

Apple iPhone 5s price drops to $549 for 16GB SIM-free version $599 for 32GB

The Apple iPhone 5s, the previous flagship device, gives way to the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus today, so naturally, it has received a price cut. During the keynote, Apple was careful enough to place the iPhone 5s on its slides, a nod to the fact that it will continue being one of the two 4″ iPhones you can still get. The device gets a 100$ price cut to 549$ for the 16 GB version while it’s 150$ lesser for the 32 GB variant, at 599$. The pricing has already been updated in the Apple store.

Apple iPhone 5c price drops to $450 for 8GB unlocked version

The tradition continues, with Apple announcing price cuts for the older iPhones that precede the brand new ones that launched today. The 5c, when it launched, had an unlocked price of 549$, while the 4S at the same time had its price cut to 450$. Now it’s the iPhone 5c’s turn, with it getting the same price cut to 450$ for the unlocked 8 GB version. Long rumoured to be a cheaper version of the iPhone, the 5c launched to poor reception last year. Apple was constantly pushing 5c through incessant marketing in several markets, especially in the past few months. This price cut will hence be the last stretch of shelf time for the iPhone 5c.

Apple iPhone 6 LTE Bands

Apple announced the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus today and there is something good about LTE support on these new phones. The company mentioned that iPhone 6 will support upto 20 LTE bands and for the first time might support LTE roaming on compatible networks. The 2 new iPhone 6 models supporting these new LTE bands are A1586  -iPhone 6 and A1524 – iPhone 6 Plus.Also worth mentioning is that it supports download speeds up to 150 Mbps and also Voice-over-LTE or VoLTE for the first time on an iPhone.
