HTC Desire VC Dual SIM (GSM + CDMA) smartphone now available in India for Rs. 20950

HTC Desire VC that was announced along with the Desire V in June is now available in India from online retailer Saholic in India. It is a Dual SIM smartphone with Dual Active feature, and supports CDMA and GSM networks on each SIM cards. The specs are similar to the Desire V including, 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1GHZ single-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4.0 UI. It is  9.42 mm thick and weighs 118 g. Radio streaming comes to Spotify for Android

Back in June, Spotify added a radio feature to its iOS app for premium subscribers. The Swedish company has now done the same for Android users. The feature which works in a way quite similar to Pandora radio, allows premium subscribers to listen to an unlimited number of stations and songs.

Xperia smartphones from 2011 might get Jelly Bean update says Sony


Sony has officially announced that they are investigating future Android OS upgrades for all devices including 2011 Xperia smartphones. John Cooper, Product Manager of Sony UK who attended an online Q&A session on Facebook last week said that XPERIA Arc S and the XPERIA mini Pro would not be upgraded to Jelly Bean. Sony says that the information from the spokesperson about the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) software development and rollout for 2011 Xperia smartphones was an error. Sony Xperia Tablet with 9.4-inch display, Tegra 3 quad-core processor surface

Range of slides with the details about Sony Xperia Tablet has surfaced on XDA developers forum. According to the source who claims to working for Sony, this first tablet under Xperia brand and would come with aluminium splash-proof body, 9.4-inch (1280 x 800) display similar to the Tablet S but would be powered by Tegra 3 quad-core CPU. It would run on Android 4.0 or later (we can expect Jelly Bean) and would come with a 1MP front-facing camera and a 8MP rear camera. It would be 8.8mm-thick, 42% thinner than the Tablet S. Micromax Funbook Pro 10.1-inch tablet running Android 4.0 now available for Rs. 9999

Micromax has introduced Funbook Pro, successor of the Funbook that launched in April. It is now available in India exclusively from online retailer Snapdeal. Other than the 10.1-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, most of the specs are similar including, 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor, 0.3MP VGA front facing camera and 3G via Tata Docomo Photon+ Dongle . The RAM has been upgraded to 1GB and it comes with 8GB internal memory with expandable micro SD slot and 5600 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy S Duos (S7562), Dual SIM Android phone has surfaced online along with the complete specs. The design looks similar to the Galaxy S III but according to GSMArena it is expected to comes with a Dual SIM support with dual standby, 4.0-inch WVGA(480×800) capacitive touch screen display and 1 GHz MSM7227A Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. HTC Incredible S Android 4.0 OTA update starts rolling out in India

HTC has stared rolling out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for Incredible S in India. The Incredible S was launched in India in March 2011 with Android 2.2 (Froyo) and it got the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update in May 2011. HTC announced the global Android 4.0 update schedule last month and started rolling out Android 4.0 update for Sensation XL and Evo 3D in India last month. Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Preview

At the Mobile Benchmarking Workshop here in San Francisco , Qualcomm showed off it’s next generation Quadcore mobile processor – the Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ 8064) .  And guess what Qualcomm just did not make just a boring announcement about a chipset and that the devices using the chip will be in the market later this year. But , Qualcomm let us use a tablet (prototype obviously ) which uses the new quadcore chip with 4 Krait cores along with the new Adreno 320 GPU. NVIDIA announces support for Miracast wireless display standard for Tegra 3 devices

NVIDIA has announced that they would bring support for Miracast, open wireless display standard  that was announced earlier this May. It would let Tegra 3 users to instantly stream content including photos and HDTVs to any Miracast-enabled display. The quad-core Tegra 3 chip would also let you stream intensive games such as ShadowGun THD which is Tegra 3-optimized game on to HDTVs.
