Ever since the original Galaxy Note, Samsung has continuously shocked us with screen sizes on their smartphones. Predictably, that has continued with the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and its bigger brother, the Mega 6.3 with the world’s biggest screen, on a smartphone that is. We initially thought it was ridiculous that Huawei launched a 6.1 inch device at CES, but Samsung has one-upped them, actually 0.2-upped them with a more monstrous 6.3 inch screen. After a good amount of ridicule and plenty of surprises, we have finally tested this Smartphone-Tablet hybrid in whole and here are our complete thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3. Retailing at Rs 32,990, is this the large screen phablet you are waiting for? Lets find out.

Google Play Games app released, lets you discover new games, track achievements and play with friends

Google announced the Google Play Games services back in May at the Google I/O. Now the Google Play Games app is live in the Play Store that lets you invite a friend and start challenging gamers around the world, compete for top achievements, and race to the top of the leaderboard. You can also discover new games and play with friends and join supported multiplayer games. It also shows notifications and friend’s requests. By default only users from your Google Play circles can send requests, but you can change it from the settings. HTC has official launched Desire 600 Dual SIM in India. It was announced back in May and went on sale in India earlier this month.  It has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) pixels super LCD2 display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8625Q processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) . It has a 8-megapixel camera on the back with LED flash, BSI sensor and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI sensor. New Nexus 7 announced with Full HD display, Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU and Wireless Charging starting from $229

Google announced the new Nexus 7 today at an event in San Francisco where the updated Nexus 7 tablet was one of the main highlights of the event. We have seen plenty of leaks of this device including an unboxing so not much was left for the official announcement except for the confirmation of the specs , the pricing and launch date.  The biggest difference on this Nexus tablet is the update Full HD screen which makes it the highest resolution screen on a 7 inch tablet and also crushes the competition especially the iPad mini. It is the first tablet to run Android 4.3 out of the box which we have covered separately. The new Nexus 7 is marginally thinner than the first gen Nexus 7 and lighter too. It is slightly narrower than the previous model. Another big change is the move from Nvidia Tegra 3 to a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor in terms of the internals. And yes it is still made by Asus. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean announced , arriving on Nexus 4 , Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and Galaxy Nexus today

The much expected Android 4.3 update to the Android mobile operating system which has been leaked several times in the past few days has finally been officially announced at a Google event in San Francisco few hours ago. The new Nexus 7 or the 2nd generation Nexus 7 tablet which is shipping on July 30th will be the first device to ship with Android 4.3 out of the box. New Nexus 7 up for pre-order from Best Buy in the US, starts at $229.99

Best Buy, one of the popular online retailer in the U.S has put up the New Nexus 7 for pre-order at $229.99 and $269.99 for the 16GB and 32GB variants. Unboxing images and video of the device surfaced earlier today, now the images and the complete specifications of the tablet has been revealed in the official listing. It has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1920 by 1200 10-finger capacitive touch screen IPS display with 178 degrees viewing angles at 320 ppi pixel density and scratch-resistant glass, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera. The device also has a LED notification light below the display and has soft matte finish on the back. Motorola has officially announced the new Trio of Droid phones, the  Droid Mini, Droid Ultra and the Droid Maxx for Verizon Wireless in USA. The Droid Mini is the a compact phone with a 4.3-inch HD edge-to-edge display and wireless charging capabilities, the Droid Ultra has a 5-inch HD display is is just 7.18mm thick. The Droid Maxx also has a 5-inch HD screen and packs a 3500 mAh battery that offers up to two days of battery life on a single charge. These are powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2. All these are made with DuPont Kevlar fiber unibody design and has non-removable battery.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra now available in India for Rs. 44990

Sony unveiled the Xperia Z Ultra, the company’s latest flagship phone last month. Now the phone is available in India from online retailer Saholic. The Xperia Z Ultra has a 6.44-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine, powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with Sony Exmor RS sensor, 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has IP55 / IP58 rating for dust and water resistance and has pen input. HTC has announced the Desire 500, a mid-range Android smartphone in Taiwan. It has a 4.3-inch  (480 × 800 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) with Sense 5. It has a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and BSI sensor and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI sensor. It has BlinkFeed and Video Highlight software and comes with Beats Audio support, but it lacks BoomSound that was present in the Desire 600. So far Gameloft has had a successful run with games involving Marvel comics heroes like The Amazing Spiderman and Iron Man 3. Now it has released the teaser trailer for its upcoming game that features another Marvel comics superhero – Thor. The game titled “Thor: The Dark World” will be releasing alongside the film which is scheduled for release later this year in November. This game will be available for iOS and Android at launch and will be free-to-play just like the Iron Man 3. Micromax launched the first Bling phone back in 2010 and unveiled the Bling 2 A55 in 2011. Now the third phone in the Bling series, Bling 3 A86 has surfaced on online retail site Flipkart. According to the listing the phone would come with a 4-inch touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is encrusted with Swarovski Zirconia crystals making it a premium smartphone.
