Earlier this year Wiio launched Wi Star 3G, it’s budget smartphone in India in partnership with eBay. Today the company has launched Wiio WI3 smartphone with a 4000mAh battery, in partnership with Snapdeal. It has a 5-inch qHD IPS display, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support and 3G connectivity. Elephone P8000 announced – Worldmode LTE and 4200mAH battery for US$210

Elephone has just announced the P8000 which is powered by a Mediatek MT6753 SoC. The MT6753 is basically an under-clocked MT6752 SoC but with Worldmode LTE support and the P8000 is one of the first phones to implement it. This means that it will work with 4G networks across the globe.

Chinese smartphone maker Phicomm entering India with Passion P660 LTE on June 3

After some reports that Chinese smartphone maker Phicomm will enter India in June, the company has confirmed that it will launch the Passion P660, the company’s first 4G LTE smartphone on June 3rd. It was introduced last month, and packs a 5-inch 1080p screen, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 SoC, runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone is just 7.4mm thick, weighs 110 grams and has premium magnesium alloy build.

Google has released factory images of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 2012 (3G), and Nexus 7 2013 (LTE) devices. The OTA update should also start to roll out for these devices now.

Motorola DROID Turbo to receive Lollipop update in June

The Motorola DROID Turbo that is available in the USA on Verizon’s network was launched in India as the Moto Turbo in March. The Moto Turbo came preloaded with Android Lolliopop 5.0 out of the box. The DROID Turbo and the Mexican variant known as the Moto Maxx still haven’t gotten the update though and are still running on KitKat 4.4.4.
