Samsung and LG will not join the race to put 4K displays on the their phones, as per new reports from South Korea. The report citing trusted sources said that both the companies might opt to skip 4K or Ultra HD for their smartphones in 2016.

A photograph is as good as the subject in it. An out of focus photo is as good as a nonexistent one and this is a problem that still afflicts smartphone cameras. Anything apart from perfect lighting conditions or equally still subject apart, a majority of smartphones just can’t focus fast enough to capture the subject. Samsung has now started rolling out a new update to the Galaxy Note5. The update brings about improvements to the fast charging and also now shows the Android security patch info.

In November, a roadmap for Samsung’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow update had surfaced and it revealed that the Note5 and S6 edge+ would be getting the update sometime in December. One T-Mobile Note5 user even got the update to 6.0 accidentally but both the phones haven’t received the official release yet. However, it seems that Samsung is ready with the update for the Note 4 and they have already begun rolling out the update across some devices.

The San Jose federal court has ordered Samsung to pay Apple $548M for infringing company’s smartphone patents. Started in 2011, the patent war is still not over as next year, the court will decide if Apple deserves more damages.
