Qt (pronounced “cute”) has been waved by Nokia for over a year as the next best thing since sliced bread, and the ultimate savior of Symbian. Despite Nokia’s decision to move to Windows Phone as a main smartphone platform, developers seem to stay committed to Qt now, producing some wonderful applications.
I have to admit, I was dubious at first, I mean we were once promised the moon with Web Runtime Widgets and we all know how that went: slow, clunky. Leading Android phone maker HTC has crossed the market cap of Nokia ($32.84 billion) and leads with $33.8 billion market share, reports the site All Things D. It’s been a rather rainy day today here in Austria, but since the weather has cleared up a bit, i was out and about with the Nokia N8 before. Spring has finally arrived and with it some buds on the tree right in front of the company I’m working at. If you know me, you know my love for the Nokia N8. Symbian^3 doesn’t exactly make it the most user-friendly device, but as mentioned in my Nokia E7 hits and misses post, Nokia’s hardware is unmatched. Focus point on the Nokia N8 is of course the 12MP camera with carl zeiss optics, a xenon flash and the biggest sensor ever put into a mobile phone. The results were so awesome, I’ve decided to do this quick post here at Fone Arena!

And here I am with yet another fine picture gallery for you all, this time i had the Nokia C6-01 right in front of my lens! Nokia’s smallest Symbian^3 smartphone certainly has the looks and feel to impress, which comes into play even more when the georgeous 3,2″ Clear Black display is powered on. Perfect for everyone who wants a smaller smartphone, without having to worry about a 4″ screen fitting into the pocket or not. I won’t go into much detail, as I have my review up soon! The much anticipated Nokia E6-00 QWERTY Symbian^3 phone has been leaked again with plenty of photos and videos of the device. The screen seems like a VGA screen and we would be seeing a Touchscreen E-series device in a form factor same as the E5,E71, E72. There is a 8 MP Camera on the Back with a LED Flash. We can also see the loud-speaker grill on the rear.
In many of my posts about the Nokia E7, ever since I received my trial unit, I kept saying that “I don’t get it”. I don’t understand the purpose of the E7 or who will buy it or for what reason. The rationale behind my thought was that in terms of Symbian competition, the Nokia N8 offers a much more complete package, while in terms of QWERTY/Business competition, there are plenty of better options with Android on board.
However, saying something is not like proving it in an objective comparison of specs, so given that I have an N8, E7 and HTC Desire Z in my hands, I set out to take some pictures of all of them for you, and to do a specifications comparison table.

The Nokia E7. Nokia’s answer to its loyal Fans who were waiting for a worthy successor of the Communicator. It’s also the answer to all QWERTY fans, finally wanting to get rid of their horrendous N97s. Announced at last year’s Nokia World in London, Nokia has set out to please fans from both camps. I have decided to gather my thoughts on the Nokia E7 in something called Hits and Misses – I will look at certain details of the Nokia E7 and either give it a plus or a minus – a hit or a miss. So what is an absolute hit for me? And where is Nokia missing something? Read on to find out what grinds my gears.
Nokia India in collaboration with the Union Bank today launched a slew of mobile based banking services. Primarily aimed towards Tier 2 cities where internet banking has not achieved much growth , the mobile banking service will allow consumers to deposit and withdraw cash from select Nokia outlets in collaboration with Union Bank.

Nokia is planning to launch a new Symbian device at CTIA on March 21 happening at Orlando, Florida. Nokia’s performance in the American market has been disappointing compared to other major mobile markets such as Europe, China and India. Looks like Nokia’s new CEO Stephen Elop has plans to refocus on the American market which is one of the biggest mobile markets.
