Apple officially discontinues AirPower citing hardware limitations

Apple dropped a piece of shocker news regarding AirPower recently. AirPower was announced back in 2017 alongside iPhone X, but we did not hear back from the company about the product after that. Now, Apple has officially declared AirPower dead citing an inability to meet its own hardware standards. Apple AirPower patent application hints at privacy feature and support for different wireless charging standards

Though Apple is yet to announce the AirPower wireless charging mat, a recently published patent application from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office offers some details on a security feature of the accessory. The patent describes that a unique ID will be used to protect data transmitted between AirPower and the devices it is charging. Apple to introduce iPad Mini, iPad Pro, AirPods 2 with Hey-Siri, updated MacBooks and more on October 30th: Kuo

Apple has scheduled an event on October 30th but ahead of the launch, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared some details on what to expect from the event as well as information on other products that we might see from Apple in late 2018 or early 2019. Apple AirPower multi-device wireless charger said to launch in September

Anyone who looks closely Apple is slowly yet steadily moving towards wireless era, be it the removal of 3.5mm audio jack or the introduction of wireless charging supports in the iPhone 8 and iPhone X phones. This feature brings the ability to drop the iPhones on a charging mat and juice it up via a process known as induction.
