Google, given the success it has seen with the Android Things and its partners in terms of smart speakers, smart displays, is now refocusing Android Things as a platform for OEM partners to build devices in those categories moving forward. Gmail uses TensorFlow machine learning to remove 100 million spam messages every day

Google has announced using its new protections powered TensorFlow open source machine learning framework is blocking around 100 million additional spam messages on Gmail every day. It is now blocking spam categories that used to be very hard to detect. TensorFlow was able to block image-based messages, emails with hidden embedded content, and messages from newly created domains that try to hide a low volume of spammy messages within legitimate traffic.

Alphabet records $39.2 billion in revenue with 22% YoY growth in Q4 2018

Alphabet Inc. has announced financial results for the fourth quarter of the year that ended on December 31st, 2018. Google reported total revenue of $39.2 billion with 22% YoY growth and 23% increase in constant currency revenues year over year. Google bans several beauty apps from the Play Store that redirect users to phishing websites, steal pictures and more

According to security researchers, several beauty camera apps on Google Play are capable of accessing remote ad configuration servers that can be used for malicious purposes. What’s not surprising is that some of these apps have millions of downloads given the popularity. A large number of the download counts originated from Asia, particularly in India. Apple restores Google’s internal iOS apps after certificate misuse
