Apple unveiled the iPhone 6 last month with 4.7 inch display in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants. The phone will go on sale in India on October 17th where the 16GB iPhone 6 model will cost INR 53,500 (about $870), while the 64GB variant and the 128GB option is priced at INR 62,500 (about $1,015) and INR 71,500 (about $1,160) respectively. In case of Indian price the iPhone 6 Plus bears a price tag of INR 62,500 for the basic 16GB variant, INR 71,500 and INR 80,500 for 64GB and 128GB options, respectively. It is the first phone from the company to sport a large screen. Apple and Google reign as world’s most valuable brands

Apple and Google have become the most valuable brands in the world, as per Interbrand’s 15th edition of the Best Global Brands Report. The iPhone and iPad maker which is valued at $118.9 billion, has topped the list followed by Google which is valued at $107.43 billion. While the former increased its brand value by 21 percent, the latter increased by 15 percent.

Apple iPad Air 2 specs leak ahead of launch next week

Apple is expected to announce the iPad Air at an event on October 16. The Miachel Report is claiming that they have acquired “pictures and illustrations” of the iPad Air 2 from “sources within Apple”.

Sapphire glass supplier, GT Advanced Technologies, files for bankruptcy

GT Advanced Technologies, a company that specializes in supplying engineered sapphire glass has just filed for bankruptcy. The company had entered into a contract with Apple last year to supply sapphire crystal glass for upcoming products.

While it was speculated that Apple would be using sapphire glass on the iPhone 6, it instead opted to use its own version of reinforced glass instead. Apple to launch new iPads on the 16th of October

Just after announcing the latest iPhones and the Watch, Apple is all set to update its iPad line this year, specifically on the 16th of October, according to a report from recode. The event is supposedly a laid back affair, after the high profile announcements that happened last month. It is seemingly centered around, not just new iPads, but new iMacs too, which are awaiting a retina display refresh, if rumours are to be believed. If Apple goes ahead with just a refresh of the iPads, the event will feature the sixth generation of the original and the third generation of the iPad mini, but anything otherwise will be interesting to watch.

Apple iPhone 6 Plus Unboxing and First Impressions

The leaks were prophetic, indeed. While most of us were dismissive of a phablet-sized iPhone, Apple proved us wrong by announcing one, the iPhone 6 Plus, along with the iPhone 6, the comparatively moderately sized flagship. This is clear admission to the fact that there is market demand for such devices and surely, a lot of people, including us, here at Fonearena, like large screens. But there are other subtle differences between the 6 and the 6 Plus like the addition of optical image stabilization to the camera and naturally, a bigger battery occupying the larger chassis. Being the first phablet from Cupertino, we were really excited to check it out, so we shot an unboxing video, check past the break for our first impressions –

Dropbox for iOS 8 updated with notification center, shared folders and more

Last week Apple released iOS 8, its latest operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.  Soon after the release, an array of apps were modified to work more efficiently on the iOS 8 mobile devices. Dropbox has joined the league of such apps and updated its app for iOS 8.
