Apple launched the iPhone 6 Plus, the company’s first large screen smartphone in October. We have already seen the unboxing, photo gallery, benchmarks, battery test and review of the iPhone 6 Plus. Now let’s compare the iPhone 6 Plus with Lumia 1520 that was launched last year in October.
The iPhone 6 Plus sports a 5.5 inch Retina HD display screen (1920 x 1080 pixels) and is powered by a new Apple A8 processor. The Lumia 1520 has a 6-inch (1920 × 1080 pixels) capacitive touch screen ClearBlack display with Gorilla Glass 2 protection. It is powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
The iPhone 6 Plus runs on iOS 8 while the Lumia 1520 was launched running Windows Phone 8 and it got updated to Windows Phone 8.1 later. The former has a 1.2MP front facing FaceTime camera with 720p HD video recording. Lumia 1520 has a 1.2MP HD front-facing camera with wide-angle lens.
The iPhone 6 Plus has the trademark physical home button along with the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The Lumia 1520 has capacitive button on the screen.
The iPhone 6 Plus has an aluminium unibody design and have curved edges and the Apple logo is situated at the middle of the phone. Lumia 1520 has a plastic body and Nokia branding at the center.
The iPhone 6 Plus has a 8MP rear iSight camera that can shoot Slo-Mo videos at 120 fps or 240fps and supports OIS while the Lumia 1520 has a 20MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), High resolution zoom 2x, Autofocus, dual LED flash, 1080p HD video recording at 30fps.
At the back the iPhone has a branding below and the Lumia 1520 has loudspeaker grill.
The iPhone 6 Plus has volume rockers while the rotation lock switch are placed on the left side. The Lumia 1520 on has Nano SIM card tray and the micro SD card slots enclosed in a couple of flaps that can be opened only with a pin.
On the right side the iPhone 6 Plus has the power button and SIM card slot while the Lumia 1520 has power, volume and the camera shutter keys.
The iPhone 6 Plus has no keys on the top while the Lumia 1520 has the 3.5mm audio jack. iPhone 6 Plus is 7.1mm thick and weighs 172 g while the Lumia 1520 is 8.7mm thick weighs 209 g.
Finally, at the bottom the iPhone 6 Plus has the 3.5mm audio jack, Apple’s proprietary lightning connector along with the loudspeakers. The Lumia 1520 on the other hand has only the micro USB port at the bottom.
The iPhone 6 Plus is available in Silver, Gold, Space Gray colors and in 16GB, 64GB and 128GB variants for INR 62,500 for the basic 16GB variant, INR 71,500 and INR 80,500 respectively. The Lumia 1520 comes in Glossy Red, Yellow, White and Black colors and was launched at Rs. 46,999 in India.
