As part of a pilot phase by TRAI, Vodafone Idea (Vi) is testing how street furniture can be used for small cells and aerial fibre deployment at Namma Metro, Bengaluru. TECNO Mobile from TRANSSION India has launched the TECNO Spark 9T, the company’s latest budget smartphone in India, as it had promised. It has a 6.6-inch FHD+ screen, is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 processor. It has 4GB of RAM with 3GB of virtual RAM, packs a 50-megapixel rear camera along with a portrait and an AI lens. Samsung Q2 2022: Best ever Q2 profit since 2018

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q2 2022 that ended June 30, 2022 in which the company posted 77.2 trillion won ($59.3 billion approx.) consolidated revenue, up 21% YoY which is a second-quarter record. It made an operating profit of 14.1 trillion won ($10.83 billion approx.), up 12% YoY, and this is the best in April to June period since 2018. Global PC Shipments declined 11.1% YoY in Q2 2022: Counterpoint

Counterpoint, a global research organization, has produced a report on global PC shipments, estimating that they declined 11.1 percent year-on-year in Q2 2022 to reach 71.2 million units, the greatest YoY decline since Q2 2013. Lenovo retained its global PC market leadership with a 24.4 percent share in Q2 2022. To recall, IDC reported a YoY decline of 15.3% for Q2 2022. China smartphone sales hit a new low in Q2 2022: Report

According to Counterpoint’s Market Pulse research, sales of smartphones in China fell 14.2% YoY in Q2 2022. Volumes for the quarter were less than half of the historical peak of Q4 2016 and were down 12.6% from the level seen during the severely pandemic-hit Q1 2020. The report claims that not nearly ten years ago, in Q4 2012, sales were lower than they are now. Earlier this year, global smartphone chipset shipments declined 5% YoY in Q1, 2022.
