MeeGo v1.0 for Netbooks is out , coming to handhelds soon

Finally Meego has released the version 1.0 of the software platform for Netbooks . And they have hinted at June release for Handhelds. MeeGo 1.1 handset UI development will start in June . The MeeGo Netbook User experience release will be followed by a early developer release for handhelds and tablets. The MeeGo image is available for download from the MeeGo site and it would run on Intel Atom based Netbooks.MeeGo v1.1 will be released in October and it will include support for touch-based devices such as Handsets, Tablets, and In-Vehicle Infotainment systems. So it should be end of the year by the time we see MeeGo powered phones

And this is a developer release , so if you are faint hearted , do stay away !

Video : BlackBerry Bold 9800 running BB OS 6

Blackberry OS seriously needs a revival and looks like RIM is working on making BB 6.0 pretty interesting. A video which shows the rumored BB 9800 Slider running the latest OS has been posted on Youtube  and looks like the phone is using a capacitive screen.
