Facebook for Android v1.9.7 brings option to use front-facing camera, new messaging features

Facebook for Android has been updated to version 1.9.7 that lets you use the front-facing camera on your phone to capture images. This version also removes support for Android 2.1 (Eclair) and works only on Android 2.2 (Froyo) devices and up. Official Twitter app launched for Nokia Series 40 phones

Twitter has finally launched the Official app for Nokia Series 40 (S40) devices including the latest Nokia Asha series of phones. This app would let the Series 40 device owners be connected to the Twitter easily. Twitter has also upgraded the mobile.twitter.com that has been overhauled from the ground up that is much faster and looks similar to the Twitter web interface. TRAI issues draft regulations on Quality of Service for mobile data services


The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released draft regulations on Standards of Quality of Service for Mobile Data Services Regulations. There is no quality of service standards for the mobile data services compared to wired Internet such as broadband. TRAI has decided to benchmark the quality of service parameters for mobile data services such as 2G, 3G and the 4G LTE services based on BWA (Broadband Wireless Access) spectrum. Vodafone India announces Drive into the Big League contest for SMEs

Vodafone has announced Vodafone Drive into the Big League contest for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This is the second season of the contest for the second Indian Grand Prix that would be held in Delhi from October 26 to 28, 2012. This would offer an opportunity for small and medium enterprises to take center stage with their logo on Vodafone McLaren Mercedes racing cars. Vodafone received close to 80,000 entries for the first season. Symbian Belle devices getting ‘Upload to SkyDrive’ option via Software Update

Symbian Tweet reports that an optional update being pushed out for Symbian Belle devices is bringing support for uploading images to SkyDrive. Users are required to authenticate their phone by entering their Live account details after which they will be presented with an option to automatically send photos to SkyDrive.
