Swipe Telecom has launched their new Android Tablet, Halo Value with dual SIM support, 2G data and voice calling capabilities. Penta launched the T-Pad WS708C with similar features yesterday. ZTE had a press conference at the Mobile World Congress on Day one of the event for the announcement of its new phablet device known as the ZTE Grand Memo. It was presided over by ZTE executives as well as Qualcomm executives who shared that the Grand memo will be the first device to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad core processor. So, we were intrigued and wanted to take a closer look at the device, and hence we did a photo gallery initially but now, here is the hands on video below.

Idea cellular has launched Zeal, their new Dual SIM Android smartphone with 3G support in affordable price range. It has 3.5 inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 2.3 ( Gingerbread) similar to the Idea Aurus that was launched last year. This phone is aimed at 3G data users in semi-urban and rural markets. It is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor and comes with Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support. Opera has finally released a beta version of their mobile browser for Android based on WebKit rendering engine. Opera already announced that they would move from Presto engine to WebKit engine that is being used widely, and this is their first release with the WebKit engine (AppleWebKit/537.22 and Chrome/25.0.1364.123) onboard. The new version also brings completely revamped UI, Off-Road mode, Opera Mini compression built-in, Omnibar with combined search and URL field and lots more. LG has released new Quick Cover case for the Optimus G in Korea. They come in 7 colors, including 5 shiny variants and two patterned variants. The Quick Cover case has a semiconductor device mounted on a magnetic substance on the cover, that makes the screen turn off immediately when closed, and wake up immediately when opened. Twitter has announced that they would shut down TweetDeck mobile apps for Android and iPhone. Twitter stopped development of these apps when it acquired TweetDeck, and concentrated more on the official Twitter apps for Android, iPhone and iPad. Twitter for Android and iPhone got a new UI back in December 2011, and the latest update brought improved Search and Discover features. Samsung Galaxy S4 specifications surfaced last month along with an image, but the phone’s image was not clear to show the complete design. Now a new render has surfaced on twitter that shows the design of the Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy smartphone. Unlike the previous Galaxy S series smartphones, this doesn’t feature the home button or capacitive touch buttons below the display. Looks like Samsung would go the Nexus way finally. Lava Iris 430, the company’s upcoming Android Smartphone has surfaced on their official site. Lava recently launched Blockbuster Phoneday initiative, in which the company launches a product every Friday. Last week they launched the Iris 502, that already went on sale couple of weeks back. Opera Mini’s been doing it for a long time, with Amazon Silk and the Nokia S40 Xpress Browser chiming in with similar functionality over the past years, all aimed at reducing the amount of mobile data consumed while browsing on the go. It may seem like a not-so-great idea considering the ubiquity of mobile data today, but the problem is still real, with carriers getting choked on one end, and people unwillingly spending their valuable data on the other end. Like other, Google too is now looking at fixing this using server side optimization of websites using a proxy server. This was spotted by Google Plus user Francois.

ASUS has just announced that the Transformer pad TF300 is receiving the Android 4.2 JellyBean update over the air right now. This entry level Transformer pad was launched in India as the TF300TG, last September. This model too, will be receiving the update, but not immediately, unlike the United States version, which is starting today. Interesting fact is that the TF300 is the first non Nexus Android device to get the Android 4.2 update. So far, the update track record for most ASUS devices has been excellent!

XOLO will launch an Android Jelly Bean phone running on quad-core processor by mid-March. Q800 will be the first quad core phone from Xolo this year. Q800 is expected to be tagged within the price range of Rs. 12,000 and Rs. 13,500. The phone will have a 4.5 inch screen. Xolo is expected to launch an entire series of quad core phones under the nomenclature Qcore. Xolo will launch 4 quad-core devices in the next two months. It has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with voice calling support and 3G connectivity through an external dongle. Rovio, the creator of the popular Angry Birds has partnered with DreamWorks Animation to launch their new game called The Croods. Rovio released the Angry Birds Rio in partnership for the Fox Digtal Entertaiment back in March 2011. Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots, a movie tie-up game in partnership with DreamWorks was released for iPhone was released back in 2011.
