Apple’s latest and greatest iPhone will be available in India starting 2nd November. Instead of relying on carrier support, the company has appointed Ingram Micro and Redington as distribution partners. The pricing is believed to be Rs. 45,500 for the 16GB model while the 32GB and 64GB models will be priced at Rs. 52,500 and Rs. 59,500 but we’re still waiting on official word to confirm this.

If you’ve been following the Apple vs Samsung case you’ll know that while the German and US courts had ruled in Apple’s favor awarding them over 1 billion dollars in damages, the UK courts passed judgement that Samsung had not copied Apple. In accordance with the court’s ruling, Apple today published a statement stating that Samsung did not infringe on their copyright.

Samsung has reported operating profit of 8.12 trillion won ($7.4 billion) for the third quarter of 2012. That’s a 91% year-on-year increase . The net profit was 6.56 trillion won. The Mobile unit accounted for more than 50% of revenue with 26.25 trillion in this quarter, 82% increase year-on-year. The increase in profit in this segment is due to the increase in Smartphone shipments significantly due to global expansion of Galaxy S 3 and and mid or low-end products in competitive price points. Samsung and Apple are the leading Smartphone vendors based on shipments, once again in the Q3 2012, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). Nokia loses its place in the top 5 list, while RIM enters the top 5 spot by replacing Nokia’s 3rd spot. The worldwide smartphone market saw 45.3% year-over-year growth in Q3 2012 with 179.7 million unit shipments, compared to 123.7 million units in Q3 2011. The Apple Store just went down for iPad mini pre-orders. iPad mini pre-orders begin on October 26th, and in the past they come online first thing in the morning. From observations in the past, I have noticed that they usually come online at 12:01 AM PST / 3:01 AM Eastern. I’ll make sure to update this post when things come back online.
Customers can begin pre-ordering all models of iPad mini and all models of the fourth generation iPad on Friday, October 26 through the Apple Online Store in the US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
The WiFi only model will only be available for purchase in retail stores on Friday, November 2nd, with pre-orders beginning to arrive that same day. iPad mini with cellular capabilities will begin shipping a few weeks after the WiFi models, first in the U.S. on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon, with other countries following later.

Apple just announced its Q4 2012 earnings report wherein it reported quarterly revenue of $36 billion. A quarterly profit of $8.2 billion was also reported equivalent to $8.67 per diluted share. International ales accounted for approximately 60% of the revenue in Q4.

SwiftKey has started teasing their new Keyboard, SwiftKey Flow for Android. The SwiftKey Flow would offer continuous gliding input with real-time prediction. This automatically predicts the word based on the movement of your finger. The concept of the SwiftKey Flow looks just like Swype, but it adds the prediction of the SwiftKey that predicts the next word in a sentence. Pantel Technologies has launched T-Pad WS702C their new Android tablet with 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and a built-in SIM card slot for voice calling and 2G connectivity. It also has 3G support via dongle and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor with Mali 400 GPU similar to the Penta T-Pad WS703C that was launched earlier this month. Flipboard for Android finally gets Audio support along with the Sound Cloud integration with the latest version 1.9.7 update. Flipboard for iPhone and iPad got audio support back in May, but the first official version of Flipboard for Android that launched did not have the audio support. The new update finally brings audio support from SoundCloud and radio programming from NPR and Public Radio International (PRI) that lets you explore the new Audio category in the new content guide while reading their Flipboard. Sony has launched the Xperia J, their new Android Smartphone in India. It went on pre-order online earlier this week and has a 4.0-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), which is upgradable to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash at the back and a VGA front-facing camera.
