SwiftKey 4.2 for Android with SwiftKey Cloud released

SwiftKey 4.2 is now available for Android phones and tablets from the Google Play Store . The SwiftKey 4 Beta was launched in July and it was updated last week with fixes and improvements. SwiftKey Cloud offers backup and sync that back up the words and phrases so that you can sync it when you move to a new device. The trending phrases feature analyses treding topics online and Twitter to automatically auto complete it as you type. SwiftKey 4.2 would be available as a free update to all the existing users and the company is running launch offer that lets you get the keyboard at 50% off. Asphalt 7 for Android updated with new Cars and Play Games integration

Gameloft is on a roll these days. Last week, they announced that Asphalt 8 will be hitting the Google Play Store and Apple App Store on August 22nd and today they have announced their partnership with Microsoft to bring 15 Gameloft games to Windows platform. TomTom Navigation with fully offline maps arrives for Android in India

TomTom is a well known navigation solutions provider and can be spotted in most automobiles fitted with a navigation system, be it cars or even public transport. Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Golden (SHV-E400) with dual 3.7 inch (800 x 480 pixels) Super AMOLED displays. Since there is a display on the front of the smartphone, you can also used it when it’s closed. You can flip open to use the other screen with a keyboard. Samsung aims to target the mid-aged or older demographic segments with this phone. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.9-megapixel camera. It also comes with S health, business card recognition, easy mode and more features. Google Mobile Search for Android gets support for Hindi Handwrite input

Google has a introduced a new feature in Google Search for Android, where users will be able to write on their screen in India’s most common language – Hindi. Handwrite has been an option that has been there for quite sometime now, but Hindi was not an option until now. Handwrite enables users to Google search by handwriting on the screen instead of using the on-screen keyboard. LG announces 5.5-inch 2560×1440 pixels Quad HD smartphone display

LG Display, the display arm of LG Electronics has announced the world’s first Quad HD AH-IPS LCD panel for smartphones. The LCD panel is of size 5.5-inches diagonally with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels at a pixel density of 538ppi. It has the highest resolution and ppi (pixel per inch) mobile panel to date. Sony Wireless NFC Speaker SRS-BTV5 Unboxing

Sony has always been known for making audio accessories for its TVs and home entertainment systems, and to an extent, even for its yesteryear Walkman series of phones but it gradually reduced until recently when they released smartphone focused accessories. These devices were launched to complement the new Xperia smartphones that come with the built-in NFC functionality. One of those accessories launched is the Sony Wireless NFC speaker codenamed SRS-BTV5(priced at Rs. 3,990) that works with any smartphone with Bluetooth A2DP. MHL 3.0 brings support for 4K and doubles bandwidth

Mobile High Definition Link, a protocol used in mobile devices to deliver content to the large screen without actually using a separate HDMI port, has been made available on tons of devices. The last iteration, MHL 2.1 enabled full HD 1080p support for mirroring, and with the latest update – MHL 3.0, the consortium has upped the ante with support for 4K. With the new range of 4K TVs doing its rounds in the market, it’s the right time for the consortium that is comprised of Nokia, Sony, Samsung and Toshibha to put forward a new iteration of the technology so that the uptake is gradual, and in line with current trends.

There are lot of 5-inch HD devices in the Indian market, but the iBall Andi 4.7G Cobalt has a 4.7-inch HD display. It was launched last month at an MRP of Rs. 19995 and currently sells at a price tag of Rs. 17,990. Here we have the device. A 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels means it has a pixel density of 312 PPI, better than its competitors. Apart from the display other things are similar to most of the other smartphones in the similar range such as 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It a 12-megapixel auto focus rear camera with dual LED Flash and large 5-mgepixel front-facing auto focus camera. The box is huge as you can see in the unboxing video below.
