Samsung Galaxy Nexus will NOT receive Android 4.4 KitKat – Google

samsung-galaxy-nexus-android-4-4So, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will not receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update if Google’s own FAQs are to be believed. The second Samsung-made Nexus device was actually the first device that came packaged with Play services and hence a subsidized price. The prices of the Galaxy Nexus got even lower just before the Nexus 4 was announced and hence managed to ramp up adoption in the mean while. It is safe to assume that this Nexus device is popular, but the cold hard truth is Google doesn’t update its Nexus device beyond the 18 month period. The Nexus S was the first victim, which also faced several hardware constraints, but this is the first time there are no hardware constraints but the update cycle will just not help the good old Galaxy Nexus out.

The phone has a 5 inch full HD IPS screen with LG’s own in-cell touch technology and is powered by the blazing fast Snapdragon 800 processor, among many other hardware features. It also runs on the latest version of Android – 4.4 KitKat which has been spruced up with new user interface changes, a changed dialer, and a lot more under the hood for developers to take advantage of. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs HTC One

Samsung announced the third iteration of their very successful Galaxy Note series at the IFA earlier this year in the form of Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the successor of the extremely popular and successful Galaxy Note 2. Galaxy Note 3 has to live up to its hype that it generated and in terms of specifications, we weren’t disappointed and we definitely wanted Samsung to do something with the design and choice of materials. Samsung have understood that their plastic flagships are no match against competitors like HTC One and hence have tried something different with a faux leather finish at the back of Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

HTC One was announced prior to the MWC 2013 event and was available in India around June by which Samsung had already captured their market with their Galaxy S4. HTC One is the best looking and solidly built Android device yet as it is carved out of an Aluminum Unibody. Something that HTC gambled with their HTC One was its camera department where they introduced a concept called UltraPixel camera which was designed to take better low light images.

Lets check out how these two devices perform against each other.

Huawei Ascend P6 Review

Huawei Ascend P6 Unboxing-9

Huawei has set a target of selling 60 million smartphones worldwide, this year. The ICT solutions giant has spent only two years in the smartphone business, yet earned itself the title of ‘fourth largest smartphone maker in the world’, beating Nokia & Blackberry, earlier this year. India, being an important market for any growing mobile manufacturer has seen few and delayed handset launches by Huawei. However, the Chinese company hopes to change that trend, soon. “We are not a well-known brand in India, yes that is true and we acknowledge we have work to do”, affirmed Scott Sykes, Head of International Media Affairs, Huawei to FoneArena, in an interview in Shenzhen, earlier this year.

After the delayed launch of Ascend Mate (phablet) in India, Huawei has now introduced its next star product -the Ascend P6. This super slim android device was first announced in UK, way back in June. P series includes Huawei’s top end devices. P6 is the last launch in this series for 2013 and could prove to be a mark-breaker for Huawei. The USP of Ascend P6 is its attractive, slim built. However, is the P6 good enough to catch the attention of an android phone user – who has several other options, from more popular brands in India? Let’s find out.
