Xolo Q600s the company’s first budget smartphone running Android 4.4 (Kitkat) was launched last month. We brought you the unboxing of the smartphone recently, here we have the benchmarks of the device. It is powered by a quad-core Broadcom BCM 23550 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz per core with 312 MHz Videocore IV GPU. It has a 4.5-inch (960 ×540 pixels) qHD screen and 1GB of RAM. Oppo launched the Oppo R1 (R829), successor of last year’s Oppo R819 in India April in India priced at Rs. 26990. We brought you the unboxing and the benchmarks of the device recently, here we have the camera samples from the smartphone. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with Fujitsu ISP, 1/3.2″ Sony IMX179 sensor with pixel size of 1.4 microns, f/2.0 aperture, 5-element lens and blue glass filter. It also has a single LED flash. Path, Inc., the company behind the Path social network has launched Path Talk, its first messaging app for Android and iPhone. After introducing messaging feature in the Path app that was successful, it decided to launch a separate app for messaging. This has unique features including Ambient Status that automatically tells your friends when you are in transit, nearby, or low on battery and Quick Replies to nudge a friend, acknowledge a message, or start a call without ever using a keyboard. Google’s gradual move into the connected home space seems to be picking up steam. Xolo launched the Q600s, the company’s first budget smartphone running on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box last month, priced at Rs. 8,499. It has a 4.5-inch qHD display based on One Glass Solution (OGS), powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Broadcom processor and has 1GB of RAM. Google announced Android Wear, its wearable platform back in March and also announced that it is working with several manufacturers, including Asus, HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung to introduce watches powered by Android Wear this year. CNET is reporting that Samsung would unveil its first Android Wear watche at Google I/O next week. iberry has launched two new devices running Android 4.4 (KitKat). The iberry Auxus Linea L1 is a smartphone with a 4.5-inch display based on one-glass-solution technology, Corning Gorilla Glass protection and the Auxus AX04 phablet has a 7-inch IPS display with 16:9 aspect ratio. At BlackBerry’s earnings call earlier this week, CEO John Chen revealed some vital statistics relating to their popular messaging application. Called BlackBerry Messenger or BBM, the service has crossed 160 million registered users. Out of these 85 million are active monthly users. Canadian smartphone manufacturer, BlackBerry, announced its financial results for Q1 2015 earlier today. The results while not entirely positive, prove to be marginally encouraging.
BlackBerry has managed to stem its losses for the most part. Revenues were $966 million which is a 1% drop Quarter on Quarter. The revenue breakdown can be explained as 39% towards hardware, 54% towards services and 7% for software. The company has a cash and investments balance equivalent to $3.1 billion which is up from $2.7 billion in the previous fiscal. Samsung usually upgrades their Galaxy Note series once a year, usually in September at the IFA. Rumors about the Galaxy Note 4 started soon after the Note 3 launch. BlackBerry India has launched a new exchange offer for BlackBerry Z30 in India. Under this offer, customers can get the smartphone for Rs. 29,990 after a minimum cashback of Rs. 5,000 in exchange of an old working smartphone. The company reduced the price of BlackBerry Z30 to Rs. 34,990 back in March celebrating its 10th anniversary of its foray into the Indian market from the launch price of Rs. 39,990. Asus is planning to launch the Zenfone series – Zenfone 4, Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 in India on July 9th, according to a report from The Times of India. These are the first smartphones from Asus that were announced at the CES 2014 earlier this year have 4, 5 and 6-inch displays. The Zenfone 4 has a 4-inch WVGA screen and the Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 have 5-inch and 6-inch HD displays, respectively.
