LG has officially launched the G Pro 2, the company’s latest smartphone in the G series and the successor of the G Pro. It packs a 5.9-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with 3.3 mm narrow bezel, powered by a 2.26 GHz  quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Micromax Tegra 4i-powered LTE smartphone press image leaks

Micromax is working on their first LTE smartphone that would be powered by NVDIA’s Tegra 4i processor, according to a Twitter user @LeaksterInc. The user has also leaked the press image of the smartphone that resembles the Wiko Wax smartphone from the French manufacturer Wiko. Micromax was the first Indian OEM to launch Tegra 2-powered smartphoneMicromax A85 back in 2011, but it did not tie-up with NVIDIA after that. Sony offers free entertainment content and premium apps for Xperia Z2 and Z1 users

Sony is offering Xperia Z2 users with a bunch of goodies ranging from music to games. Xperia Z2 smartphone users will get six free movies, 30-day trial of the Music Unlimited service, 8 games from PlayStation Mobile and a free download of the upcoming Michael Jackson album, XSCAPE.

Samsung started rolling out the Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the Galaxy Note 2 last week France. The update is now rolling out for the Note 2 users in India. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 got the KitKat update in January and the Galaxy S4 got the update in February. The Galaxy Note 2  got Android 4.1.2 update back in December 2012 and got the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update directly, skipping Android 4.2, back in November last year. Samsung schedules health-focused event on May 28th

Samsung has scheduled an event in San Francisco on May 28th to discuss about something related to Health. Since this comes from Samsung’s Semiconductor arm, it could be related to forthcoming sensors and components, rather than some new fitness device, says Engadget that received the invite. Samsung launched its new Gear devices, including the Gear Fit, a smartband recently. All these accessories have Heart Rate sensor to monitor the heart rate.

It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, Largan M8 lens, 1/2.3inch sensor, full HD video recording and a 8-megapixel auto focus front-facing camera.

LG G3 leaks again in live images, shows off ultra-thin bezel

Earlier this week LG confirmed several simultaneous events on May 27th and 28th in different cities worldwide, where the company is expected to unveil the LG G3. The back of the smartphone was leaked recently showing off the rear buttons. Today, more live images of the smartphone got leaked on a Korean website that shows the front part of the phone with ultra-thin side bezels for the first time. Amazon’s smartphone revealed in new render

We all know about Amazon’s foray in the smartphone market as few details have already surfaced online. Last month images of the 4.7 inch phone with six cameras were leaked. This was followed by another report suggesting that the phone will have tilt based gesture control. Today BGR has revealed a new image of the Amazon smartphone that is ready for a June launch, according to WSJ report.

Microsoft updates OneNote for iPhone with iOS 7 redesign and other features

Microsoft has released much needed updates to its note taking app OneNote for iPhone. The latest update enables users to create new notebooks and sections from an iPhone and share. Prior to this, users could only read the documents and not create them. Users can also add, delete and rename sections.

Foursquare’s new Swarm app is a social heat map of friend activity

Foursquare has changed a lot. The popular location based social network has gone through several ideological changes in the past and it is at a point where data points to utter confusion for the consumer, as well as for the company, as to what Foursquare actually is. It was initially really popular for its “Check in”s and then the company slowly added more social components to its app, like a discovery engine, a friend feed and more. At this point in time, there are just too many components to the app, and hence the New York based start up has decided to un-bundle some of its core features into a separate app, called Swarm.

Worldwide tablet market posts just 3.9% growth YoY in Q1 2014, down 35.7% QoQ

Samsung and Apple are still the leading tablet vendors by shipments in Q1 2014, according to preliminary data from research firm IDC (International Data Corporation). The worldwide tablet market grew just 3.9% year-over-year in Q1 2014, with shipments of 50.4 million units in the quarter, down 35.7% compared to last quarter. Yesterday IDC reported worldwide smartphone shipments that was down just 2.8% compared to the holiday quarter. Snapchat gets Instant messaging and live video chats

Snapchat has finally added support for instant messaging for its Android and iPhone apps and also brings live video chat. Once you swipe to the right on a friend’s name in your Snapchat inbox, you can start chatting with them, send them photos and videos, just like any other messaging apps. Once you leave the chat screen, all the messages will be cleared for both. But either of you can always tap a message or a screenshot to save them. Google Glass teardown estimates total cost less than $80

Google Glass, the futuristic wearable product from the Mountain View company, has been all the rage among the tech community. But, with an astronomical entry cost of 1500$ and a limited invite-only model, it is extremely clear that it is not ready for the market. But in the future, it will be ready, but what will be its approximate cost? We can not know now, due to the rapid commoditization of technology, but we can surely get an idea of what it costs Google to make the current version of Glass, thanks to a teardown by the popular site going by the same name. It estimates the total cost of the “Bill of materials” to under 80$ for Google.
