The Lava Iris 352e, an entry-level smartphone went on sale last month. Now the Lava Iris 354e has been spotted on Flipkart. It has a 3.5 inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), similar to the Iris 352e. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby and has 2G (EDGE) connectivity. The phone is a bit thinner than its predecessor at 11.8mm and has 2GB of internal memory, instead of 512MB. The design of the phone has changed, which looks more flat with sharp edges than curved.

Airtel Mobitude 2013 survey shows 124% jump in data users, 3G devices contributed to 87% of data traffic

Bharti Airtel has released the results of Airtel Mobitude 2013, the 5th edition of its Indian annual survey that reveals that mobile TV, Bollywood, Hello Tunes, Re 1 entertainment store and gaming ruled customer preferences. Mobile TV witnessed 400% plus jump in viewership over last year. Airtel Re 1 entertainments store paved way for data usage growth . The number of data users jump 124% from last year and data consumption jumped 220%. About 87% of data traffic was contributed by 3G-enabled devices. Smartphones with 5.5″ plus screen jumped 123% in last two quarters and Google remains in top as most visited site, followed by YouTube and Facebook.

LG G3 rumored to come with fingerprint sensor

LG G3 to come with a fingerprint sensor, according to a recent report from Korea Herald. LG is conducting a series of tests for the product with a fingerprint sensor and it is likely to use swipe fingerprint sensor, unlike the iPhone 5S, the report adds. Apple introduced finger print sensor on the iPhone 5s that lets you just place your finger to unlock the device. HTC One Max has a finger print sensor on its back that lets you swipe to unlock the phone and also launch lets you applications by configuring multiple fingers. Intex has launched the Aqua i-4+, successor of the Aqua i-4 in the Aqua series. It has a 5-inch  (854 x 480 pixels)  display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), similar to its predecessor. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with WeChat, OLX, Matrabhasha lets users access the phone in 22 regional languages, Intex Cloud app to store more pictures, videos and files, Intex Play and more apps. We could not find what has changed in this one compared to the Aqua i-4 since the specifications are similar.

TCL has launched the Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ (S960) in China. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display at 440 PPI, powered by a 2 GHz MediaTek MT6592 Octa-Core processor with Mali 450 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby and comes with a BOOMband Bluetooth wristband that tracks your activity and alerts you if you leave it behind by sounding an an alarm. iBall Andi4.5-K6, the company’s new smartphone in the Andi series is now available from eBay. It has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby and packs a 1600 mAh battery. The iBall Andi 4.5z that went on sale back in October had similar specifications, but this has 1GB of RAM.

NVIDIA Tegra Note tablets including Xolo Play Tegra Note gets Android 4.3 update

NVIDIA has started rolling out Android 4.3 over-the-air (OTA) update for the Tegra NOTE 7 tablet that adds new features and capabilities. The company has also said that the tablet from OEMs including XOLO would get the new update. Nvidia already announced that they would push out OTA update for the tablets directly, even though it is sold by different vendors globally. This update adds new features including improvements in stylus experience, help option for DirectStylus,  high-dynamic range (AOHDR) capability in camera and more. AOHDR utilizes Tegra 4’s processing power and Chimera computational photography architecture that we saw at the Tegra 4 launch. Nokia launched the Asha 500 along with the Asha 502 and the Asha 503 in India last week. The Nokia Asha 502 Dual SIM went on sale in India last week, now the the Asha 500 is available in India from online retailer Infibeam, as Nokia promised at the event. The Asha 500 was announced at the Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi back in October . It comes with a 2.8-inch QVGA (320 x 240 pixels), 2 MP rear camera, Nokia Fast lane multi-tasking screen, Dual SIM support, 2G (EDGE), WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and FM Radio.
