Samsung launched the Galaxy E5 smartphone in the E series in India last month for Rs. 19,300. It powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) SoC that has four ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs clocked at 1.19 GHz per core and Adreno 306 GPU clocked at 400 MHz, similar to other A and E series smartphones. Google just announced that it will launch Android One smartphones in Indonesia later this month. Google launched Android One smartphones in India back in September last year and it expanded to Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka last month. ARM today announced Cortex A72 processor in the A70 series based on ARMv8 architecture. It has 64-bit processing technology and is fully compatible with the extensive ARM 32-bit ARMv7 ecosystem, similar to the A50 series. It offers three and a half times the performance of Cortex-A15 based devices and is also highly power efficient, says the company.
