Amazon has announced a major expansion of its ultra-fast delivery service, Amazon Now, scaling its operations to reach 100 cities across India. To facilitate this growth, the company is expanding its specialized fulfillment infrastructure to include over 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers (MFCs) nationwide.
The initiative is also designed to integrate agricultural supply chains, enabling more than 16,000 farmers to supply their produce directly to consumers through sellers operating on the Amazon Now platform.

Infrastructure and Operational Mechanics
The backbone of Amazon Now relies on a network of strategically located micro-fulfillment centers. Investment Context
This rapid expansion of Amazon Now falls under a broader corporate investment of over ₹2,800 crore (approximately USD 300 million) in India. According to the company, these funds are allocated toward strengthening its operational network while implementing measures to ensure the safety, health, and financial well-being of its associates.
How to Access the Service
Consumers can check the availability of Amazon Now in their specific area by opening the standard Amazon.in mobile application. The service is accessible via a ‘lightning’ Now icon located on the top banner of the app’s interface.
